We at Canterbury Tales Bookshop in Pattaya have one of the best selections of new and mostly used books in Pattaya, many subjects, many languages and the lowest prices in Payttaya

Dave commented about Macau to Hong Kong Ferry, On Tuesday October 13th, 2009 04:06:58 AM

The ferry from HK island to Kowloon takes around five minutes and costs a couple of HK dollars.

Bravo to Vicky, "the English is terrible", don't you think it's disrespectful to say this? Have you even bothered to learn 'hello' or 'thank you' out of courtesy in anticipation of being a guest is another country? 'Chinese language'? Do you even know they speak a different language to Mainland China and even have a different writing system? (traditional characters in contrast to simplified) Incidentally 10-20 USD does not equate to 10-20 Euros, and there is no 'Macau Dollar' theyre called Patatcas, I wonder how many times you've been ripped off because of your failure to research simple things such as exchange rates properly beforehand. I imagine you've been duped many times, because obviously you've infinitely more money than sense.

Utter morons like you don't deserve the privilage of travel.

Here's a little 'Chinese Language' for you: ÄãÊÇÓÞ´ÀµÄ£¬ÎÒ½¨×hÄãËû‹ŒµÄÄãµÄĸÓH

I have used Canterbury Tales Cafe and Bookshop in soi Chaiyapoon for months now, I live about 1 hour from Pattaya in Rayong and its a good excuse to pop into Pattaya overnight and dabble in the nightlife and re stock on reading matter.

They have a huge selection and cheaper than anywhere else in Pattaya, all sorts of subjects, not only fiction, I found the new stephen Leather book in there fire one at 160 baht as new and it was only out a few months back

Also all the Thai stories and some good reads as well as the 50 exchange system a great place fora coffee and read, the rooms are good too as I stay there if they have a room available, google them canterbury Tales Cafe Pattaya.

Dave commented about Video from Lago Atitlan, Guatemala, On Friday July 10th, 2009 03:22:38 AM

Nice video! I have one very similar. We rented a car when we were down there literally just after you but in Feb. of this year and took many videos and pictures of all over Guatemala. My wife and I drove to Pana one day (very windy roads) and have pictures of the same places (the Church in Santa Catalina). We got convinced into doing the boat ride over there from pana and seeing the thermal waters which wasnt much to look at. It was neat but nothing like North Americans think of like hot tubs, haha. Thanks for putting up this video as it brings back fond memories. I cant wait to go back there sometime.

dave commented about Where is the French W, On Sunday February 8th, 2009 10:58:00 PM

French W ... it's easy and you found the answer yourself. As we say - the exceptions prove the rules. So you found Sandwich.... an english word (a placename that has aquired a secondary meaning). The french have no 'wih' sound so they take the next precedent in their rich culture, from Poland and say 'sandvich'.
If in doubt, leave it out - better an error of omission than commission.

Helpful>?

Too bad Tony Blair didn't say most of that. You really ought to check these things out before posting for all the world to see.
