Hi Andy,
I know this isn't exactly a "travel spendometer", but you might want to check out Tripbase.com's personalized destination finder at http://www.tripbase.com/destination_finder.do . It gives you destination recommendations based on your preferences and budget. It also gives you the option to pick between a "Budget", "Midrange", or "Luxury" style trip.
After you've set your preferences, Tripbase will give you recommendations for the best destinations, as well as the money you can expect to spend per day, the price of the budget hotels and more.
Andy, for you, I might recommend clicking on the "Hide Popular Destinations" button. That will give you less well known destinations.

Hey Andy,
Uploading videos is a pain when the connection hovers around 5kbps...
One thing I've found that saves tons of time is to convert the video first and then upload it. divx.com provides a utility to convert a number of different formats to .divx (the divx converter). I just tested it out and it turned a 30 second, 40Mb video I took on my camera into 2.1Mb, and the quality is just about par. Youtube will upload it too. Have a look and maybe you can spend a few hours less at the internet cafe and more time in carriages :)

Andy, you used to avoid photographing yourself and/or putting your face on the web. Seems you have changed your line of thought on that lately and now we know what the hobo looks like. The mystery is gone...just curious why? Enjoy your site, keep it up.
