i hope u can pinpoint what it is exactly that makes u feel like that. I too can only take so much of thailand before i want to get back to london. And i am malaysian. it is not thailand only, i feel the same way about malaysia(and I was born there!!!) there is something about the western way of life that no matter how appealing the life in thailand and malaysia, i still want to get back to london. it is a place i can stay, unlike thailand and malaysia which are places (amongst many) that i only like to visit. i did not know that others feel the same way. u seem so settled in thailand, and like it so much, so it would be really interesting to really find out why after all is said and done u still need to get back to usa . i have tried to honestly look at why i like london, and i can only say because it lets me do what i like. in s.e.asia, there is always this background prohibition spoken or unspoken that haunts a person who lives there...'dont do this, dont do that'. It gets irritating after a bit. That is my reason for my wanting to get back to london. is that yours too? or do u have another?

hi andy, thanks for clarifying. i once saw a chap typing away on his laptop on the moving train in uk. It was connected by usb to his mobile and he did not seem to have any problems. so why use bluetooth? perhaps it is a silly question. Please excuse me if it is a silly question because i m not gadget savvy.

hi, thanks for blogging so regularly. It is nice to get a traveller updating on a daily basis. It is true that travellers dont do it often. When i was travelling, i found it is not easy to get online. u mentioned that blogging is work. I am glad to say i dont find it difficult. This is because it is informal blogging. That is why i suggest you have a mix of articles which u have to prepare and spend time on, and daily blogging a diary. You can write anything in ur daily diary, spontaneous thoughts and observations and never have to bother about getting it perfect. Right now u mentioned about GPRS.how much does it cost u? i m curious because i like to compare it with london. it is about £15 a month here. From what my friends who have it tell me, it is quite reliable though slow in uk. but in thailand I am not surprised that it is sporadic. Do you write all your posts on ur mobile? without a keyboard? no wonder u say it is such a bother and feels like work. haha. I guess u dont use ur laptop much, hence the ants. You could write on it save it to disc. Take ur time writing up the post maybe over a few days or weeks whilst u gather material for it, and then go to a cafe and download it at once to ur weblog. how about that as another way whilst still writing short posts daily?

hi andy, i think u have a interesting blog, and enjoy both ur diary and articles. so why not do both in the same blog? that way u can write an article which requires more effort and time whenever u feel like it, rather than have to do it to post regularly. also why dont u link ur new website www.hobohideout.com to this blog? I think it is a good idea that website, i hope those private people who want to offer a room in their own flat or house might be tempted to join in. a lot of us travellers would prefer to live in private housing with people who live there. and if each person who offers his house or flat for visitors can say something about themselves, hobbies, lifestyle, etc they might find kindred spirits who would prefer to stay with them rather than in a inpersonal hotel or guest house.
