Believe it or Not.... When I was a kid in Hawaii we had a hand tool that WHOLED the pineapple. Sort of like a coffee can that was sharp at the end. First we cut of the top like the video then just pushed down the tool and out came the pineapple core . We had a few sizes for large medium and small apples but result same. Definately get more meat doing by hand but time was cut in 1/10 the time punch done ....cut.
I think the sales part comes in the nice presentation of the ICED CART with small pieces on a stick. not the quick chop chop.
PS did you know you lose your finger prints when handling pineapples full time ?
Same ingredient is in the pineapple that is a meat tenderizer.

There are plenty of poor children and orphans in Asia but truly the Filipino street children of Manila are the saddest. Some of these kids really do live on the streets 24/7 and do not have a parent over looking making them beg. They are on their own. Even in Poipet,Cambodia the worst shinola hole in the world the children are being watch by a older sibling while they are begging. So they do atleast have that.
You got 21 days left see if you can find a decent street kid program I can donate to next time I visit.

10 would be for exchange rates bus fare, much less than the 50 + percent most NGOS spend on themselves for rooms beer,food,fun,etc.

However most people create jobs to earn more money and a better life. Tax it to much no incentive to do more than bare minimum. Tax it to little and you can't pay for basic infrastructures. You should try to keep it as low as possible period.

I think you got this one wrong Andy. Have you ever been to Pattaya,Phuket ? They thrive on returning cusomers. You can tell what month it is by the faces in the bars or on the beach. So many condos/rentals marketed there and Phuket just for returning customers many of which are sold/leased to people who have been returning for 20+ years. Many 1 time travelers would and have avoided Thailand because of bad news,Tsunami,Mr. Karr,Bombs and a xlarge percentage would not be stopped even if nuclear war broke out in Thailand for their annual trip. Thailand has many many return customers more than any Asian country by far.
