QUESTION - Answer below Andy, I receive emails about writing contests all the time. I received the following one today (5/7/07) and I thought I would pass it on to you. If you enter you might win. I have not read the fine details and do not know who is qualified. I may not be qualified because I am technically a professional. I make money by travel writing. I have met a few travel writers, mostly guide book writers. The guidebook writers make about enough to travel, maybe. The ones who write for Newspapers make a more, writing an article for a magazine maybe will pay you a couple of hundred dollars. This amount of money is great, although not for me, I do not write for other people, cannot get myself excited enough to write for an editor. And good for me, I make this much money every 10 days on the intern. I encourage a person to write, money is almost impossible to make with travel writing, writing a book maybe, the truth is a person has to like to write, more than the money. As a side note, I offer 150 US for a well written Tip.
