James Taylor singing "Mexico."
Driving across Nebraska, wondering why they radio wants to play song 30-40 year old, then this song came on the radio, and I needed to add it to my list of all time top travel songs. Top Travel Songs
- Andy Lee Graham perpetual traveler of the planet.
Mexico by James Taylor: Not an easy travel song to interpret, but I will use the words of the song to explain by moving around:
"Mexico I never really been,
but I'd sure like to go."
Do you "Feel a fool running your stateside games?
"Mexico It sounds so simple."
"The sun's so hot I forgot to go home."
There is something unexplained that happens to a person when a person is "out," and looking "in." They see the foolishness of playing the "stateside game."
Saying "Mexico," sounds simple, and in a way it is, but you will never understand until you forget to go home.
Thanks

Lyrics to : Mexico Song by James Taylor
Way down here you need a reason to move
Feel a fool running your stateside games
Lose your load, leave your mind behind, Baby James
Oh, Mexico
It sounds so simple I just got to go
The sun's so hot I forgot to go home
Guess I'll have to go now
"Americano" got the sleepy eye
But his body's still shaking like a live wire
Sleepy "Senorita" with the eyes on fire
Oh, Mexico
It sounds so sweet with the sun sinking low
Moon's so bright like to light up the night
Make everything all right
Baby's hungry and the money's all gone
The folks back home don't want to talk on the phone
She gets a long letter, sends back a postcard; times are hard
Oh, down in Mexico
I never really been so I don't really know
Oh, Mexico
I guess I'll have to go
Oh, Mexico
I never really been but I'd sure like to go
Oh, Mexico
I guess I'll have to go now

Here's one of my favorite road songs by JT who happens to be one of my favorite performers...
Captain Jim's Drunken Dream
-James Taylor
Well you country fools in your one horse town you can laugh at me
But it's plain as rain that you've never been down to the southern sea
To see me now is like watching a fish on dry land
I only wish you could see me down in the islands
Mister, that's my home.
What a fool I was to leave the only happiness I've known
You see me coming, you wink your eye and call me captain jim
And when I don't do nothin' but walk on by you say baby get a load of him
All I need is the sea and the sky and I know where I stand
Instead of you hicks straight out of the sticks deciding I ain't a man
You'll never understand
Up here I'm a whisky bum but down there I'm a king
Sounds just like the angels up in heaven
When they sing
Welcome home, welcome home
Such a sight to see
Instead of some salvation army sister
Singing andquotnearer my God to theeandquot
Now I know that yankee whisky has taken away my mind
And I know that rum is the only drink suitable to mankind
And I know this tree I'm under is shaped entirely wrong
I need to see a gentle palm tree and I won't wait to long
I can feel that it's coming on strong
The first cold wind of winter is flapping in my clothes
Showing me the way with the direction that it blows
Welcome home, welcome home
I'm getting that itch real bad Andy... I hope to see you in Pana...or San Pedro La Laguna! That is if we survive Dec 21st which is to be an Apocalypse but most "stupid Americans" don't know that apocalypse has nothing to do with destruction... It has to do with a new revelation. The lifting of a "veil". A start of a new AGE.An apocalypse (Greek: and#7936and#960and#959and#954and#940and#955and#965and#968and#953and#962 apokálypsis "lifting of the veil" or "revelation") is a disclosure of something hidden from the majority of mankind in an era dominated by falsehood and misconception, i.e. the veil to be lifted.
