~ TODAY’S TRAVEL TIPS

ADVERTISE YOUR HOSTEL
I thought I would give my business owner friends
a good tip.

I do not know how many Hotels, Hostels,
Guesthouses, Pensions, or Residencials
I have lived in the last 5 years.

If I say only 1 per week.
It is 260.
IF I say 2, it would be 520.
I really am not sure.
Somewhere around LOTS.

THE BOTTOM LINE
There is always the one liner that explains
the most essential lesson. When you can explain
something in one line, you probably understand
the subject. I call that,
“Bottom lining it.”

HOW TO ATTRACT THE BACKPACKERS
So how do you get a backpacker to come to
your accommodations?

CHEAP FLYERS
The bottom line is flyers, or very very cheap brochures.
Black and white, and dirt cheap.
The type you post or can hang on the wall.

A flyer will have who, when, why, what, where
and hopefully a map. The goal is to make
it very easy to come to your accommodations.
Draw a map.

No doubt a good word in the guidebooks can make
your business. But to get the good word, you must be
the place that the backpacker like, and then they will
say that in the guidebook. All the stuff about internet,
directories, and guidebooks is good, but in the
end it more simple.

When a person enters your accommodation.
Hand them 5-10 brochures.
When they walk in the room.
There should be 5-10 brochures.
When they leave.
Say,
“Thank you for visiting,
Will you take some
of these brochures or flyers and post in the
next place you stay?”
Give them 5-10 more brochures.

Some of you will say this is too expensive.
I said cheap flyers or brochures.
The cost of 5-10 flyers should cost less
than 15 cents USA.
If it cost more. You are paying too much
or being too fancy.

Who, when, where, why, what and HOW.

Try to help me go visit the local attraction.
I go to cities to visit something.
The reason I go to your city is not normally
your Hotel. Help me to visit my main destination
or tourist attraction and I may stay at your
Hotel, Hostel, or Guesthouse.

Just another day in Paradise!
PLAN YOUR ESCAPE...
Be a Hobo, and leave your mark.

Life is good.

As always, these are suggestions. Please realize I am
giving guidance, and there are always other opinions.
“One mans paradise, is another mans hell”
This way we do not all go to the same place.
