MARRAKECH MOROCCO
Opinion on Morocco before I start on other stuff.
Morocco is a great place to visit to see a typical outside
market with hundreds of venders thronged together in a
huge mess. The prices are not cheap as a market of South
America or Asia, but it is the same type of flavor.
It is probably the closest to Europe, although Turkey has
some similar.
This is not a place to go to the beach for winter.
I will return to travel Morocco again, Essaouira is always worth
a visit to see the World Heritage Site there and the Medina.
I have no reason to recommend Marrakech other than the
market, but it the same or less than quality of Tangiers.
Tangiers is close to Europe, plus what make a market
interesting is
when it has not been changed by tourism.
I suppose some
small town in the north close to Tangiers
would be easier. Marrakech is full
on tourism, while the
value of Essaouira is obvious when
you go to the port
and fort at the point.
TRAVEL IN MOROCCO
I am laying in bed typing in this eight dollar a night Hotel of the
Medina area
of Marrakech Morocco trying to decide my next
move. I have complete freedom to
go anywhere on the planet,
and I must make decisions. (I now have too many choices.)
This I thought would be the perfect life, but I am not sure now.
I have traveled
the last seven to eight years on a very tight
budget, which only allowed one or
two plane tickets per year.
Therefore 90 percent of my airplane trips were to
return home
to visit my family and 90 percent of my international travels
were
by bus as I wandered around a continent.
I went from Mexico all the way to Argentina by bus, except for
the flight from
Panama to Quito Ecuador, two continents by
bus. I have done India, Nepal and
most of Southeast Asia
by bus; therefore, the bus is my normal way of traveling
and truthfully the best way to see the world.
I have made the wrong decision in coming to Morocco
in the winter months. What I
though would be a strange
Islamic beach vacation is now a two week and out of
the country French jacket vacation. There are a few
surfers driving down the
coast but almost zero backpackers
on long extended vacations wandering around
Africa or Morocco so this place is desolate.
It is too cold in Northern Africa in the winter.
There is no social life in Morocco in the winter.
This is a where French people come for two week vacation,
or the world would say
Holiday. This is one of the few countries
close to Europe where you can visit a
totally different
culture and see large markets.
I am totally lost to describe what I would consider a normal
market in the world. A market is so normal I do not even think
about it anymore, they are in 80
percent of the countries
on the planet, but the other 20 percent goes to them as
a tourist attraction to see how the other poor half lives.
Therefore sort of a
have and have not world, or let us
go slumming.
EXOTIC
This is the word I need to explain the market. It is exotic
The definition of Exotic is:
Strikingly different: strikingly unusual and often very
colorful and exciting or
suggesting distant countries
and unfamiliar cultures.
I WANT EXOTIC
I want exotic and intimacy, it is sad to me that what I
would consider the most
important needs in life are
confused with S-_ex.
(The proper spelling will get me filtered in the junk mail filters.)
To become more than my boring self, I must experience
cultures opposite than
myself or exotic relationships.
Then people get married to share the conversation,
love, or the close personal
relationship of intimacy.
I therefore want to meet exotic or strikingly different
cultures and share in
close personal relationships
and friendships.
HOW MY TRAVELS WORK?
1. Go to cheap exotic countries.
2. Travel slow and meet new friends.
3. Enjoy the local tourist attractions.
TWO DAYS AND OUT!
I use this phrase to describe cities. Marrakech,
Morocco is a two day and out
city. Tourist, travelers,
visitors, or anyone that slept in this hotel was only
here for two days and the left or were out of the city.
There was no time to say
hello.
Morocco appears presently to be a two week and
out country, most of the tourist
are on short holidays
and then leave quickly. There was no time to say hello.
NEW FRIENDS
I have met one new person in Morocco where we
exchanged e-mails and maybe we
will stay in touch,
but
probably not. In some countries like Ecuador,
Guatemala or
Peru it could be two per day. In Southeast
Asia, it is maybe two per week, and
in Morocco,
it would be two per month.
Europe is maybe about four per month, not a friendly
place, but they do not have
the time and it is too
expensive for backpackers to stay around more than two
day in one location, the must travel fast and furious to
guarantee they see
nothing or feel nothing.
A party-to-party world.
BOTTOM LINE
I like to go to exotic places, meet new friends, then be
distracted or share the
experience with the new friends
by looking at tourist attractions like the World
Heritage Sites.
Most people travel with a friend or mate, so I suppose
the solution in these
desolate countries like Morocco
is to find a friend or mate to bring along.
MY NEW TRAVEL CHALLENGE
I counted, I have traveled or followed the path with one
person per year or
about 8-12 people in my travels. My big
new challenge is how to find people to
go with me to the
extremely exotic and different locations on the planet.
So who wants to go to Mauritania, Senegal, Mali, Niger,
Chad, Libya and Egypt
with me? Up some strange
river off the Amazon River? Down the Yangtze River
in
China. Across the top of Russian Siberia? Walk
from Finland to Norway on foot?
The heart of Africa?
Island hop in the Philippines for six months?
I love it when I research these types of projects,
because people will…
Plan an EXPEDITION
Plan a SAFARI
Plan a TREK
Plan an ADVENTURE
Plan an EXPLORATION
Therefore, TIME and MONEY is the enemy. Who has
the time and money to travel for
three to six months,
who can slow down their lives long enough to see and
enjoy
the world? No two weeks and out! No two days
and out! One of them words above… hehehe
THANK YOU
I am extremely grateful to all my friends, supporters,
donators, Mother, Father,
Sisters and Brother, and
miscellaneous people in my life. I have the perfect
life
and the life less normal. I be Hobo and travel from
place to place to earn
money, traveling the planet
on the cheap.
HoboTraveler.com the web site has finally made
it over the hump and is self
supporting and can afford
to buy this cheap Hobo one plane ticket per month.
This means, I have complete freedom to go anywhere
on the planet. This means
that if I am in the wrong
place at the wrong time, I can leave.
HOBO CAMP - BANGKOK THAILAND
I have purchased a plane tickets to my base camp in
Bangkok, Thailand where I
will probably go visit
Indonesia, Singapore, Taiwan, and the Philippines,
maybe
Hong Kong, South Korea and Japan.

The ideal map would have all the cities in at least

English - French - Arabic
English for me.
French and Arabic for the taxi, bus, and guides
or maybe Camel or Donkey drivers. This would allow me to
point at the city I want to travel to and they could read the name
and then I could negotiate the price by writing down the price
on a piece pf paper and holing up the money in the specific
country I would be located.

Hi, First of all, I am not a power seller, but have over
400 positive feedbacks with
100% ratings. I am currently
starting my ebay business and trying to push the
sales
a little harder.
I am experienced with european leather goods. I have
been trading small leather
goods (mens accessories) for 4 years. I you are currently in Europe, I would like to order brand names
small leather
goods. I would like to buy in bulk
(maybe 10 or more items at a time). Thanks
ANSWER
Hello Junio,
I am presently in Morocco and on the way soon to
Bangkok Thailand. I see a lot of leather goods in many
countries, but do not seem many BRAND name leather goods. I am sure I see a lot of knock off or copies
of them though.
Which country in EUROPE would have cheap leather goods? Europe is very expensive and hard to believe this would
be the best place to buy leather goods?
Maybe in Eastern Europe.
I am on my way to Bangkok, Indonesia, and maybe the Philippines but I hope to drive around in a van in May with Oren in Eastern Europe. Tell me where and and send me photos.
Note that Colombia has lots of cows, and so does
Guatemala so maybe there is the place for leather.

Hi Andy, if you need a good interactive mapping service on the
road you might like www.map24.com. You need Java
to get the full features of our mapping service.
Good luck! Let me know if you like it. We already have a couple of bloggers who like our service.

ANSWER
NOTE do not send me links like this! www.map24.com
Make like this http://www.www.map24.com
In my email they are NOT clickable and I have to cut and paste to go look at your sites, it is annoying and I really do not like to have to cut and paste links... make it completed please.
Hello Jens, I got on your site.
http://www.www.map24.com You are correct it needs Java and the internet cafe machine was not
set up right or what not so work good. I did put the link on my maps page.
http://www.hobotraveler.com/maps.php
It will be there soon, when I publish. I will look at it again, hard for me to push or recommend the java stuff as it does not work for us boys out on the road or more or less the internet cafes are not up to speed.
Thank for the notification though and hope you do well. Andy of HoboTraveler.com in Marrakech, Morocco
I wonder what the other bloggers are up too? I am not able to really monitor anyone but myself and most have not popped into my google.com searches, but when they do, I pop them on a page.
