Amazon Jungle Adventure Tours Peru Launches New Website and lets independent travelers and backbackers who want to do more than just see the sights connect with a local guide for an authentic, amazon jungle experience.
Amazon Jungle Adventure Tours Peru offers tours to the Pacaya-Samiria National Reserve and the Yarapa River near Iquitos, Peru.
Experierienced bilingual local guides, many of whom grew up in the area, lead all activities. Having such an intimate knowledge of the flora and fauna means that you will learn amazing facts about the habitat and its occupants.
Almost every plant has a use as a cure for something and scientific research is starting to discover many truths to these ancient remedies.
The days are spent on the folowing activities. It is possible to set your own itinerary from any of the activities available depending on your wishes.
We partake in as many or as few activities as you like all are optional.
Activities Include:
-Walks in the Amazon to find out the many medicinal uses of the plants, including cures for headaches, stomach aches, arthritis and even cancer.
-Night boat rides searching for nocturanal animals and insects.
-Walks in the primary rainforest in search of many species of animals, one of them can last the entiere day.
-Canoeing on hand made Amazonian canoes along the tributares and nearby lakes
-Fishing for Piranha in the rivers and lakes
-Birdwatching trips
-Swimming in the river
-Searching for the grey and pink river dolphin
-Swimming in the lakes
-Searching for the pre-historic looking Hoatzin birds
-Capturing Caimans at night
-Tarantula and snakes photographic hunting
-Relaxing in one of the lodges many hammocks
The company also offers the services of a authentic local shaman for ayahuasca ceremonies.

Hello, I am interested in any information on the statis of the m/v rio amazonas. I have traveled on it several times in the past years. I dont think the ship is in operation at the present time. Will it be up and running in the near future. Is the ship in drydock and under repair. I am planning on a trip to Iquitos again in early 2009 and would like to schedule a trip on it or at least something similar. Any information would greatly be appreciated. I THINK IT IS GREAT AND A GOOD ADDITION. I FEEL SO STUOID AFTER SIX YEARS OF LIVEING IN IQUITOS OFF AND ON DID NOT KNOW THE FULL SCOPE OF WHAT THE F.B.I. WERE ABOUT.
