Traveler Laundry or Washing of Clothes

In the western countries this is more about cost than of quality, but for the cheap-country-travelers you discover some nuisances.

Best Choice - Why?

1. It will cost you 3-5 USA Dollars per week.
2. You will try to leave on a bus, train, or plane and your clothes will not be ready.
3. You will go to pick up your clothes and they will not be finished, or you will go to the place three times to drop your clothes off and they will always be closed.
4. You can control the time.
5. There will be either clothes missing or you will have someone else's clothes.
6. The will cheat you on the price and you will learn to hate that country.

 - 90 Percent of the time this is done by hand and dried in the sun or on a clothes.
 -   5 Percent of the time this is done by hand and dried by a hot air dryer.
 -   5 Percent of the time this is done by machine and dried by machine.

Problems:

1. The will come back wet if there is no sun and even sometimes when there is sun.
2. They will tell you the clothes will be machine dried and they are not.
3. The scales used are bad or inaccurate.
4. Never drop clothes off the day before you leave on any train, bus, plane. This is probably the number one goof up of travelers. They assume that people will do as they say and leave with wet clothes.
5. There will be one or two pieces of clothing missing. Very common, or they will mix up another person clothes.

Solutions:

1. Weigh your clothes before you go in butcher shop or on a postal scales.
2. Go and look at the dryer.
3. Only have your clothes wash and dried where you can watch them performing the task.
4. Only drop the clothes off late at night and pick up the next night. This gives them adequate time.
5. I give them 10 pieces always, never less and never more so I can count the number of pieces when I pick them up.
6. Make a list of all your clothes before you give them to the cleaning person.
7. Make sure the price is negotiate prior to washing.

PAYING THE WORKERS AT HOTEL TO CLEAN CLOTHES
