Weak Batteries Causing Bad Photos in Ghana

I am using a 12X Sony optical zoom camera, it uses two AA batteries. I noticed here in Nkawkaw, Ghana as I was near the end of the battery life, the colors of the leaves of Bananas I was taking were not as pronounced green.

I am not sure how to gauge or stop this problem, I will try to locate a battery indicator inside the camera to check, and try to gauge when I should end.

There is some other questions I have about how long or how many photos before the degradation of photos.

Maybe when I power up it is better quality than when I am taking many photos in row.
