Craig Sony 12x

Hello Craig,

I have the Sony 12 X Optical Zoom Camera, I think now about 350-400 dollar range in the USA.

The 12x zoom increased the number of photos possible by about triple over the 3x, amazing how many more photos I can take with a bigger zoom.

I held the camera up next to the canon professional camera with the standard lens and it was the same zoom at the base price.

Sony now has a Single Reflex Lens that I could now put on bigger zoom. This is my next step. Then again, I have to buy all the cases to carry the cameras, I look at cases, it is a package deal, I need the backpacks and cases before I decide on the camera. I would have the pro-version of Sony, however I could not find a good case. The Pelican cases are just plain rediculous in size.

Bad part, I cannot carry this camera in my pocket.

In the end though the feature I care about the most is speed. When I turn it on, how long does it take to power up. To get the best photos, I need to be fast at the gun, something is happening, and I am wanting to take a photo.

I had this Olympus, 3x zoom, i just left it at home, it was so slow, I hated it, nothing more frustrating that missing photos because the camera is slow. I like the Sony because I can buy the chips, toys, and such about anywhere.

But in the end, a good price is great, the camera you are looking at sounds nice.
