Malawian food is yummy. Really good. There is an ocra sauce that I am not a big fan of, but everything else is simply delicious. Its simple, fresh, and has amazing flavor combinations. The ocra sauce is tasty, but the texture is not pleasant. I lived there for a year, and I really had no complaints. Now there is a food shortage, but Malawians really know how to make the best out of what there are given. Really wonderful country with amazingly nice people and good food. Wish I was there right now, actually. I have never met anyone who has been to Malawi and did not love it and its people.

These people who state Malawi is a bad place probably never even gone there and if they did well who cares. Two people that say something bad can be crazy and probably are! So maybe make some remarks about their country, because i guarantee their place ain-t perfect anymore than yours.

malawian food is good. i ain-t gonna lie. I love to try different foods and this is one that i like. If you don-t like this kind of food, don-t go off saying that its the worse food ever and that you wouldn-t recommend it b/c some people might think that chinese and thai food is the worse food in the world.

It saddens me to see so much ignorance in the world.The posts by these Thai and Chinese are so pathetic and that just shows how ignorant people in these so called wealthy countries can be.It does not harm to keep quiet if you do not know some things.As for you hungry traveller, never travel without money for food.

I was very saddened and very angry to read the comments about Malawian food. I-m a proudly Malawian and I find your comments not only degrading but also childish. Whoever wrote those comments has no clue whatsoever about Malawi and about being a human being. How can one refer to fellow human beings as people who are simply born to die? How can one say such a thing?

Malawi has a lot of food recipes and the people do eat and we share in whatever we have. We may experince hunger every once in a while but that has to do many factors including people like the ones who sent in those rude comments.

For your information, idiot from Thailand, Malawi has no sea. Malawi has a big lake, a big freshwater lake called Lake Malawi with plenty of fish, some of which are only endemic to this lake. It-s a natural wonder which not only caters to the local poulation but also a fair number of tourists.

We may not be as rich as other contries but we do get by. Show us the respect we deserve as a fellow human being. To say that we eat sand. How can one eat sand mixed with sea water? And the one who spent a month without eating? Which part of Malawi did you visit? Balntyre Lilongwe, and Mzuzu happen to be cities where fast food joints like Steers are very common. Even in the rural areas, people share what they have. Going for a month is simply not possible in a country like Malawi. Next time please show us the respect we deserve as a people.

I don\'t think they eat anything in Malawi. They are born to starve to death. i visited there once I didn\'t recieve any food for 1 whole month. I was rushed to the hospital when I returned. It\'s sad, they can\'t eat food cuz they don\'t have any.

Hmm...let\'s see....Malawian food...dun\'t even think it exists...apart of course from sand mixed with sea water and put in a leaf which they eat once a day since there are soo many people to feed. They occasionally add some coconut juice on special occasions like christmas and easter.
