hi everyone! Me and my husband are currently working here in Haiti and we want to visit DR for just few days or during weekend since it is just at the border of Haiti. People here in Haiti are asking for us to pay US$220 each for a DR visa. This is too much! And one of my husband-s colleauge had already paid US220 because he needs a Visa badly for a conference meeting in DR..This is to give attention to the COnsulate of DR in HAiti,please kick out those ashole locals who are working in your office... pleeeease!

I have noticed that some people are interested in visiting the Dominican Republic, in places where the DR has no embassy. Please know that if you are interested in visiting the Dominican Republic, there are some very simple minimum requirements to meet:

1. valid passport

2. Visa application (not all visitors require a visa).

3. Visitors may stay for up to 3 months only. (Extensions are possible).


The Dominican Republic is a small country located in the Island of La Hispaniola, and occupies the 3/4 of the island. In the west there is the Republic of Haiti, which occupies the remainder 1/4th of the island).

Spanish is the OFFICIAL language, although there are quite a few people who are fluent in English and French. I am an American, and have been living in the Dominican Republic for little over 7 years.

If anyone is interested in visiting the Dominican Republic, please feel free to contact me: I will forward your queries directly to the DR Immigration Office, or to the DR Tourism Office. I can also help you process the visa applications, but you must understand that the decisions are taken by the DR Government, not by me nor by my organization.
