Singapore Scams

What are Scams

A scam is scheme for making money by dishonest means.
A scam is to trick somebody: to obtain money from somebody by dishonest means. Normally two or more people are involved in a pre-meditated scheme to cheat you out of your money.

Singapore.

I came to singapore last year (i.e. July 2008) and got cheated twice by some GREEDY HDB Owners and Agents just because of loop holes left by Singapore Government. Im staying at above address for last six months and paying S$1600 per month. Now rentals are going down but Agent and Owner is saying I cannot leave the house even after giving 1 month notice and I wont get my deposit back. It is an HDB approved unit and HDB officials say they cannot do anything because this is a agreement between tenant and house owner. Police also say the same thing. I did complaint about the first Scam in Court but after some notices they told me to go to next step I need to pay some fee (approx. S$800) which will be recovered by the house owner but not sure. They sk me to find out if that house is on the name of house owner(who ran away with my money).

Anybody tell me from where Ill bring this information? HDB officials say these info are confidential. In Singapore nobody is there to listen or act. They just know to put fines. How can they say Singapore is Low Crime Country where people are doing fraud with foreigners daily and still roaming openly without any fear.

This is to inform all the Readers from Gujarat that there is a large racket going around by some people in allaince with agents to give student visa , Employement pass , S-Pass then after eight month P.R of singapore. Any one can open a company in 700 Sin Dollars. Show one or two employee- pay CPF on their Behalf then they are eligible to ask for E.P. once they get the approval they put the file of Candidate taking heavy sum of Rs 3 lac. This can be applied by any person who is on social visit ( short vist) to singapore , do this witin three month then vanish. No Government can do anything in this. NOW even if you get Pass and if they close the company you are gone. You have to find another company who can take on your pass. Also Suppose some person have enterpeniour pass but do nothing in the company whioch he has created the also he can aplly for pass for other people and after two year his own enterpeniour pass gets cancell , he moves out of singapore leaving behind all the mess and taking away all the money.

So GUYS take care. Look for company atleast 3-4 yrs old , dnt pay in advance.Dnt belive any one if u believe then dont pay.

One Guy i can put the name to be beware of is Mr.Manish Dave. A Big Fraud from Baroda- Had cheated lot of people. In case any one come across him kindly inform police and help other people from geting cheated

The Company Details concern:
Asian Business Directories Pte Ltd
Co. Reg. No. : 200510208K
Address: 2A Jalan Klapa Singapore 199314
Company Director: Christian Hamoeller (Mr)
Person in charge: Belle Joe (Ms)

The above Singapore registered company makes use of the loop hole of Singapore Law and make money from innocent Businesses in Singapore and South East Asia.

1. The company concern is Asian Business Directories Pte Ltd (ABD), own by Christian Hamoeller, a German reside in Philippines. See the company profile attached.
2. The company sent a fax to my wife¡¯s company. The fax included the company details of the recipient and asking companies to confirm their company details. All the details are correct except the Industry categorization.
3. The fax states that :¡± To be included in the latest Singapore Business Pages, kindly complete, sign, affix your company chop & return to Fax 6297 8034 before 10 November 2006.
4. Please note the text: ¡°To be included¡± NOT ¡°To advertise¡±. The words seems to be are carefully crafted not to give people the impression that it is about advertising.
5. The fax has a Logo ¡°Singapore Business Pages¡± which easily mistaken as ¡°Singapore Yellow Pages¡±.
6. Recipients of the fax thought that it is sent by Singapore Yellow Pages (SYP).
7. The fax urges recipients to send back by 10 November 2006 which in fact the deadline was already over the time when fax reached the recipient on 27 Nov 2006
8. Recipients, thought that it is business listing service provided by SYP, quickly amend the incorrect detail, sign and fax it back according to the instruction.
9. My wife received an invoice from Asian Business Directories Pte Ltd on 16 Jan 2007 for the amount of $4250 (before GST) for an advertising entry with Singapore Business Pages
10. By then, my wife, which was already 2 months in her pregnancy, refer back to the earlier fax she received from Singapore Business Pages. To her horror, she noticed that under the big Font text of ¡°Singapore Business Pages¡±, the smaller text states ¡° Advertisement Contract: ¡.¡± and an even smaller print ¡° Advertisement Cost of SGD4,250 + Gst per edition¡±.
11. It is a very well thought text of using ¡°SGD¡± instead of ¡°S$¡± as the ¡°$¡± will attract attention.
12. And there was one block of small text (without any paragraphing) of Terms and Conditions, which state that it is an Advertising Contract for TWO editions of Singapore Business Pages. Each edition is S$4,250 i.e. S$8,500 in total. Visually, the block of text can be easily ignored as your attention will be attracted by : To be included ¡..¡± and the BLOD text of the date to reply.
13. The terms also state that ABD accepts cancellations within 7 days.
14. Note that ADB deliberately sent their invoice more than a month later, thus, not likely that anyone will be able to exercise the cancellation option. Another well crafted setup.
15. Plus the fact that the recipients are not aware that it is NOT Singapore Yellow Pages in the first place and NOT aware that it is an advertising agreement.
16. Thus, there is no recourse based on Singapore Law, I suppose, as reported in the newspaper.
17. I would also like to bring to your attention that similar cases has been reported in Hong Kong too. And the person involve in Hong Kong¡¯s case is also called Christian Hamoeller , the same name as the Director of Asian Business Directories¡¯s Christian Hamoeller. See the Hong Kong report attached which I extracted from URL: ( http://hk.myblog.yahoo.com/jw!YZykKGKTAAePt715Vj8TKjOo8Cu_1g--/article?mid=466&next=407 )
18. Note ABD is also present in Thailand, Malaysia, Philippines. And all the various countries operation point back to ABD¡¯s Singapore office address. See below:
