Internet based transaction is scammer's favorite because it is untrackable (unless we have an advance technology that is usually military or interpol used). The only way to avoid this is by acting prudent and logic. Never transfer money to stranger if you have no local contact to crosscheck them.

We booked a tour at this website and after paying a deposit, we got a sad e-mail in which they asked for the entire sum. So we asked our deposit back, but until now it hasn't happened. Also other touragencies say it's a scam.

Beware of the websites www.torajatour.com, www.sulawesi-adventure.com and www.sulawesitour.com.
They all are scams! Their websites look fancy and they offer tours all over Indonesia but if you book they take your deposit and never show up. Don't book at any site requiring deposits of 50 or more!

Buyer beware Ocean Star Marine and PT.Indo Asia Cargo are two websites that look real good but are fake and you will never get the boat you paid for. I got taken for the full nut on a boat and they even fooled my closing agent. We have contacted the FBI to help shut them down. Beware!!!!
