I Fly to Ghana as USA Bombs Drop on Libya

My instincts tell me, President Obama has proven himself worthy of being President of the USA and leader of the free world. He has stood up, toed the line and is being Presidential as the USA drops bombs on Libya in another World Police Force action.

"You have been weighed, you have been measured, and you have been found wanting. Come back when you're worthy."
Movie --- A Knight‘s Tale
I have to admit, was caught off guard, I did not expect the world to drop bombs on Libya and it makes me weak in the knees to follow along with anything the French probably needs for economic reasons.

As best I understand of the world, France has had it hands up the dress of Libya for years, as it does with all the Francophone countries in the world. Yes, they got freedom from colonization, but France normally controls their banking,

North Africa is the "Mexico of Europe."

The USA has Mexico as a neighbor, and Europe has North Africa, the USA has it hands up the skirt of Mexico twiddling around, while Europe is doing North Africa. And France is always trying to perform carnal knowledge with all of the Francophone countries.

Who sold the fighter jets to Libya?
Libya has money because of the resource curse.

Please - I need person to call and ask a question.
I am in the process of making a recording of questions and answers, it would be helpful if you called into today with a question. I need one more question to start this thing, do not be worried, about any question is good.

I fly to Ghana tonight
I will fly from Dakar, Senegal to Accra, Ghana and arrive at about 6:00 am in the morning, then take public transportation to Cape Coast and meet Bah my Ivory Coast girlfriend. She will enter Ghana on Monday as I am entering Ghana, she will go to Western Union in Elubo, Ghana and pick up 100 US Dollars that is already waiting for her.

I 100 percent recommend all Internationals travelers sign up with before you leave the USA or your home country. Then if possible, also talk a trusted person, maybe your wife, family or more intelligent than normal person to sign up also, and when there is a need, you can send money fast.

Bah said,
"I do not have money."
Within 20 minutes, had money waiting for her in Ghana, she said,
"The banks are closed here in Ivory Coast, you cannot send money here."

I sent 100 US Dollars, it cost me 20 U.S. in fees, this is extremely expensive, you are paying for efficiency and speed.

100 USD saved me from needing to travel to the border of Ghana and Ivory Coast, and insures she feels safe from financial insecurity. I am more than happy, it cost me about 50 USD to avoid about 12 hours of sitting in a van in Ghana, this is a no brainer decision.

99 Percent of Hotel Owners are Slumlords

Where is the Hotel Maintenance Man?
I have zero hope for Hotels; it does not even cross my mind to call the receptionist and say,
"Please send the maintenance person to fix the toilet."

That is a hopeless desire, what I say is,
Can I change rooms?"

The best solution to maintenance problems for tourists is to change room, after living in over 1000 Hotel rooms a person knows what solutions work.

My door handle broke about 10 days ago here in Senegal; I put it back on, and started using a small handle close the deadbolt. - (I seldom request Hotels to repair problems, I have given up, and it is hopeless.)

95 percent of small hotels do not have any regular Maintenance person.
4 percent have a person they can call to come to the Hotel.
1 percent has a person working in the Hotel, or the owner is the maintenance person.

Note, there are 25 Million Hotels on planet earth, only about 50,000 are five start tourist hotels or resorts that maybe have a maintenance man. Ask the concierge to introduce you to the maintenance person, you may have a long wait.

Bottom line is this,
"99 percent of Hotels are slumlords; they refuse to do maintenance until forced."
They know that 95 percent of the clientele will leave tomorrow, and the problem will end, the complaint ended, therefore the problem ended. I change rooms within a Hotel roughly 20 percent of the time. I find the best room, then peruse the Hotel for a couple of days and move into a better room after I have weighed the situation, and understand why some rooms are better.

The bottom of the door rubs the floor; it probably has been this way for years. I broke the handle probably because I am too strong and pulled too quickly. If a Hotel cares about its clients, it has a maintenance person. I can buy beer in the majority of Hotels easier than I can have a light bulb changed in the room.

Dakar / Yoff / Senegal, West-West Africa --- Saturday, March 19, 2011

I went to the Air Nigeria office yesterday and purchased a ticket leaving from Dakar, Senegal on Monday to Accra, Ghana for 620 USD one-way. Upon walking away in the downtown part of Dakar near the Marche Kermel, I met this girl selling coffee. I sat down, quickly realized she was selling tea and was happy, she wanted 50 CFA, about 10 cents for a small shot glass of tea. This was a small oasis in the middle of scoundrels, central Dakar if full of people wanting to cheat me, it is the center where all the stupidest of stupid tourist hang out. Well, to find a good-hearted woman in the middle of Jerk-Ville-Dakar, Senegal was a great feeling.

Tea from a nice Senegal girl was relaxing; I had just left "Air Nigeria." (--- I said, I had just left "Air Nigeria.") If you do not like getting e-mails from Nigeria, imagine buying a plane ticket, I am fearless.

This is an LED light that you put into a normal 220 or 110 electrical socket; it appears to me that this should be the standard light bulb on the planet one day. Presently this bulb is selling for 10 dollars, when it gets down to 50 cents it will be priced correctly.
Buy on Amazon

I Want an Unbreakable Light Bulb
My normal light bulb broke yesterday, I need to buy another. If I could purchase an unbreakable light bulb this would be wonderful. Maybe someone knows where to buy unbreakable light bulbs; this would be great travel gear.

People with Half a Million Dollars in Bank
If you have an unlimited amount of money in your bank account, you truly need to learn how to login into your bank accounts safely. Only log in on your own computer, but if by chance, you want to be safe, Boy Genius the coder found this program that runs from a flash drive. This is to stop the key logger programs from recording you keystroke.

I went into a small hardware shop yesterday and purchased a clip-on light to use for my shaving mirror. I have entered this place many times, the boy refuses to have stop the music or stop playing on the cell phone, it is amazing this new world we live in, nobody cares. The cell phone, music and Facebook rule the planet, and people who play sports are Gods.

My Travel was Purchase with Tolerance

Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things can not be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime.
---The Innocents Abroad Author: Mark Twain (Samuel Clemens)
This quote was in Mark Twain’s conclusion to book
The Innocents Abroad Part 6. Chapter L. to Conclusion

I think about this quote by Mark Twain, nothing is clear to me. Today, I went searching for answers, I often think that he was quoted out of context; maybe the world has twisted his words.

You are an Ass
I enjoy Mark, only a genius can call the people an ass and have them love him, I suspect he was highly hated while alive.
"We wish to learn all the curious, outlandish ways of all the different countries, so that we can ‘show off’ and astonish people when we get home. We wish to excite the envy of our own untraveled friends with our strange foreign fashions which we can’t shake off...The gentle reader will never, never know what a consummate ass he can become, until he goes abroad. I speak now, of course, in the supposition that the gentle reader has not been abroad, and therefore is not already a consummate ass."
—Mark Twain, The Innocents Abroad, 1869
My Theory on Tolerance
Travel does not make a person tolerant; travel is a test of tolerance. I used to think my friends were somewhat innocent, now I think of them as dumb, and need to tolerate them, I traded acceptance for tolerance, because I am not longer innocent.

Dumb and Dumber
I just had two of the most frustrating days of my life, I must have accidentally prayed to learn tolerance, and therefore God gave me some incredibly stupid things to tolerate. Bend over, pay too much, wait too long, and then be grateful, that is tolerance, right? I was burnt, I was not even able to write on this Blog, almost said F#%K it, but what the hell, why not.

1. Six month Visa to Ghana for 200 USD.
- Proper value of 50 USD
2. One way plane ticket with Air Nigeria from Dakar, Senegal to Accra, Ghana for 620 USD.
- Proper value of 220 USD
3. Living in Auberge Via Via for 27 per day USD after Weekly Discount
- Proper value of 13 USD per day.

I have to admit, just when you think things could not get dumber, they take a leap to higher levels. This video below illuminates the reasons you should never travel, it is highly possible you turn into a certifiable idiot. I used to think my friends were smart, I must avoid Facebook… they are proving me wrong.

Please track this girl down and slap her silly, I just do not care, she never learned a thing about travel, she is on drugs.

Having Fun with Body Language in Dakar Senegal
60-93 percent of communication is non-verbal between humans, when there is no common verbal language, this can be 95-100 percent. The people of Dakar, Senegal speak the "Wolof Language." I thought Senegal would be easy for me because I speak French, the average person here does not speak French, they speak Wolof.

Therefore, in Senegal, I speak Body Language 95 percent of the time; it is the only common language between the Senegalese people and me.

How fluent are you in Body Language?
I am an extreme extrovert, I verbally try to talk with 50 percent of the people near me, if you are close to me, I say hello. I try to talk with body language with 95 percent of people; I accidentally ignore about 5 percent.

Just because I am trying to communicate verbally or non-verbally does not mean they understand me, although I am 100 percent sure body language is more effective.

Breakfast is included here at the Auberge Via Via in Yoff, Senegal. Therefore, around 7-8 am everyday, I sit down drink my Orange Juice and Baguette with Chocolate, and start the day out with a severe sugar buzz.

Everyday, Sirah the Senegalese girl who is the receptionist stops at my table and says hello, looks at me and smiles, she waits until I look and reply. Everyday, the Belgium manager walks to the corner and avoid me, and does not say hello. Fatim, the day girl who is the waitress comes up, stands by my chair, brushes close to me, and touches me, she does not talk, and she is trying to be secretive. The men that work in the Hotel are under the control of the "Dominatrix" manager from Belgium and they are confused around me, more or less Alpha Male.

People walk close or they walk away, there is always somebody screaming at me in body language here in Africa.

Bah the Girlfriend from Ivory Coast
The girlfriend I am going to visit soon in Ghana from the Ivory Coast is body both verbally and body language shy. She is often aggressive both verbally and with body language to people walking that enters here personal space. I am the exact opposite; I will give a smile and a hug to anyone the needs or wants one.

I introduced Mabel above to Bah; I forced Bah to sit down in her shop while I ate some peanuts and talked. I purchased a Soda for Bah; she loves Soda, so that slowed Bah down long enough to become friends with Mabel.

I Love this Photo of Bah with Mabel
I have seen many older women hug Bah; this makes me happy, I finally accepted that is was fear and shyness that can make her so cold and not open.

How fluent are you in Body Language? Why does this photo make me happy?

Understanding body language is important for travelers, with every move I make, I am communicating something to people.

When I am moving towards a person, I am saying, you are OK…
When I am moving away, I am saying to the person, you are not OK.

Maybe Senegal has Most Beautiful Women on Planet
I used to say that Colombia had the most beautiful women on the planet. I need to return there and check, I am not sure, I think it may be Senegal. Please, I beg all Christian Missionaries to come to Senegal and convert the women of the country to Christianity. Truly the women in this country are foxes, they are thin, tall, wiggle when they walk and almost totally untouchable. The religion says more or less, you can dress and be sexy, then when you marry you need to cover up, advertising prior to marriage is fine.

I am Arranging to Meet Up with a Girl in Foreign Country

Yesterday I paid 200 US Dollars to apply for a six-month Visa to Ghana. Immediately after I receive it, I will then pay another 556 Dollars for an Air Nigeria Flight from Dakar, Senegal to Accra, Ghana. It will cost me 756 Dollars to meet Bah, in Ghana. Should I be scared? I have met her three times before, I am 95 percent sure she will be meeting me in Elubo, Ghana.

Air Nigeria? I am not lying; I will probably fly on Air Nigeria to Ghana.

I hop around the planet with ease, this is a cakewalk for me, but a few minutes ago, I had a pause, and was empathizing with all the men or women of the world who meet people online. Then slowly over time, one of persons says,
"Come visit me?"

People spend thousands of dollars to meet up with people they do not really know, and then when the situation turns out bad, they return home, and never admit they made a major mistake. This is the same as people who invest in stocks; they only explain their successes, you seldom here about their failure.

I worry about, there is no privacy, it is dangerous, and I can learn anything about a person. is the perfect way for people to open doors; pretend they are your friend and then steal or cheat you out of lots of money. I have made a standing policy, if someone wants to be my friend, I must instantly recognize the name, or I refuse to friend him or her.

This beautiful and sexy Senegal girl wrote me two days ago using the private message system. It appears she has been a member for two days, I thought to myself,
"That is a great photo?"

How does a sexy Dakar, Senegal girl know I am here, this just feels too good to be real.

Hire a Lawyer?
If my friend received this e-mail, what would my advice be?
"Hire a lawyer."

1. I am making a joke, but truthfully, this message is a recipe for disaster.
2. One of the best experiences in a mans life.

My brain is a small calculator, I am great at math. I started to think of probabilities, odds, what percentage chance this is real.

It is a Man
There is a 75 percent chance this is a man writing me, using a photo of a beautiful and sexy Senegal girl as part of his scam.

Of course, the math is simple here, I am in Dakar, Senegal and this is funny, it would not cost more than a few dollars to open the door and be positive. However, if this was some man in New York City, the cost of opening the door to check could go from a few dollars to a few thousand dollars…

How to Vet a Person
I have exchanged e-mails a with many people, then took a bus to meet them. If you have your wits about you, you say to yourself,
"Why me?"
"Can I trust this person?"

Vetting Defined: Vetting is a process of examination and evaluation, generally referring to performing a background check on someone before offering him or her employment, conferring an award, etc. In addition, in intelligence gathering, assets are vetted to determine their usefulness.

I have had many discussions with Boy Genius in India, my partner and coder for this website. We often talk about Facebook, or even Couchsurfing, I explained.
"I had to pay 25 Dollars to CouchSurfing to prove I existed."
"The site vetted me."

In the last two months, a few people wanted to write, edit, update, or write on anonymously or with a nom du plume. I have to do a great deal of work that revolves around setting up an algorithmic process to vet people. This is the ultimate Rubik’s Complex problem, how to open the door to the good people and close the door to the bad? Moreover, how to allow a good person to be anonymous, when it is appropriate?

Nom de Plume Defined: A pen name, nom de plume, or literary double, is a pseudonym adopted by an author. A pen name may be used to make the author's name more distinctive, to disguise his or her gender, to distance an author from some or all of his or her works, to protect the author from retribution for his or her writings, or for any of a number of reasons related to the marketing or aesthetic presentation of the work. The author's name may be known only to the publisher, or may come to be common knowledge.

My Senegal Hotel the 10 Problems and 10 Benefits
I am working on a checklists Internet page about Hotels, a way for a person to check off the positives and negatives of a Hotel, and then appraise the true value in a global market.

1. List of Hotel problems.

2. List of benefits of a Hotel

I have been in the Auberge Via Via in Yoff -- Dakar too long, it is one of the worst Hotels for the money I have ever lived in, however, explaining this is confusing. It is a nice hotel, is just not worth 30 dollars per night. I have lived in close to a 1000 hotels in my life, it is easy to know when I am paying too much, I do not need to think long, it was obvious the moment I entered the Hotel.

When I am paying too much for a Hotel room, all the small problems of the Hotel become large problems. It does not help readers to say a hotel is good or bad, I need to prove it. However, this is subjective; therefore, I strive to create an objective checklist that a person could use to appraise the value of a Hotel room. I am in a 10 Dollar room and paying 30, the problem is this, all the Hotels in Dakar are in agreement, and they are going to charge too much. I found a room for 10, in a better location, and if I return, I will go there next time. My problem is Internet; I am paying 20 Dollars per night to have a high-speed Internet connection in my room.

Senegal is annoying, there is no reason to come or stay, it is just easy to visit because they do not require a Visa; I just buy a ticket and show up.

Basketball Players Imported from Senegal 500 Years Ago
I think the men here in Senegal are the tallest I have ever seen in Africa. I am starting to think all the tall slaves imported to the USA came from Senegal. At six foot tall, I was a giant in Ghana, Togo or Ivory Coast; there are many men in Senegal taller than I am.

Rubik's Complex a Common Traveler Malady

"A personality disorder in which the inflicted feels the constant need to solve the puzzle."
-- Originated on television medical show "House."
Some doctors have a "Messiah complex", Dr. House has a "Rubik's complex".
I often obsess on the question,
"What makes a person travel forever?"

I think it is could be labeled a "Rubik’s Complex." The world is a puzzle, there are never-ending questions, and generally, there are no simple answers. If you watch the TV show "House," you will observe the Doctors working with him become extremely frustrated, often angry. He provokes, they want simple answers, and he only puts forth enigmatic statements. Derives a conclusion, and is confident, arrogant and direct, this drives his staff crazy.

USA Television Makes Traction in Europe
I was talking with Jean, an extremely intelligent 26-year-old man from Belgium who works for the United Nations here in the Via Via Hotel the other day. He made an interesting comment about the televisions shows in the USA. He said more or less,
"We Europeans used to think all the TV shows from the USA were stupid, in the last few years they have become very good and our people are becoming addicted. They are watching series every week; they are glued to the TV."

Ok, I paraphrased that, but more or less that was the idea, I have been traveling now for 13 years, this means I have been hearing Europeans make fun of the USA television and Movies for 13 years. It has always been fun for me; because they would say the USA TV was stupid, and sometimes I would, point out their country was not even smart enough to make a TV show that could be evaluated as stupid.

One Travel Problem Needs One Type of Travel Gear
There is a rather annoying idea, that there are many solutions to problems. In reality, the best solution normally surfaces and become a standard. If you look at luggage, you can see that a carry on size bag with wheels is almost the universally accepted type of luggage for travel. There is a reason; this is because for average use, this is good bag for an airplane.

Note, 95 percent of these bags are too big to fit in the airlines measuring rack, and one day the airlines are going to decide to truly enforce their own rules.

I have lived in Hotel rooms continuously for 13 years, and there are best solutions to problems. There are optimal travel tips, I often think about the "Universal Plug Adapters."

There is tons of travel gear sold that does not work longer than about one or two months, for example if I buy a kit above, and I lose one piece, what do I do?

I cook inside my Hotel Room maybe 4-5 times per week, not complicated meals, but I do cook many foods. Well, after doing this maybe 1000 times, there evolves the highest and best way to cook. There is nothing that save more money than cooking your room, and trust me after 13 years, the thrill of sitting in restaurant alone and eating is gone.

There are best solutions for travel tips, not all solutions are good, and only by traveling perpetually does one travel tip become obviously the best.

Faking a Hotel Reservation?
Want to ask a question to decide if a person is a traveler or a tourist?

Ask a person,
"How do you fake an onward plane ticket?"

I am adding, because I am becoming tired of doing so…
"How do you fake a Hotel Reservation?"

If you need to ask why, then you are a tourist. Now, many readers realize that tourists annoy me, the reason is simple, they are delusional, and they have little humility. There three things that people believe they are experts at; "Sex, Real Estate, and Travel," and the truth is nobody is an expert. The only reason I call myself an expert is to slow down the idiot comments from Tourists, it takes a lot of huevos to tell a person that has traveled for 13 years how to travel, but people want to do just that, almost daily. Then to expect me to just listen quietly is a little weird, I feel like "House."

I say Travel Expert or Professional Traveler to slow down the tourist, and get them to think.

Andy in Senegal Waiting for Obvious Travel Decisions

I want to finish writing a book; I need about two months of non-travel. I had four choices, and I am (was) waiting for the obviously good decision to erupt out of the confusion.

1. Stay in "West" West Africa for six months, Senegal, Gambia, Guinea, Liberia etc.
--- Not good, because I am beat up, Visas are too complicated, and not peaceful time spent on the road.

2. Fly roundtrip from Dakar, Senegal to Chicago, USA, returning in two weeks.
--- Not good because this is expensive, about 1300 USD and not a good recharge of my emotional batteries, I would be beat up after two 20 hour plane flights.

3. Fly roundtrip from Dakar, Senegal to Chicago, USA, returning in 2-4 months, after stopping in Guatemala or Colombia to recharge my emotional batteries.
--- The best choice but is competing with fourth option.

4. Fly to Accra, Ghana after I get a six-month Visa here in Dakar, Senegal.
--- An OK choice, but I need to re-charge my emotional batteries.
--- I need to stay in one city for 2 months in Ghana.
--- It would help Bah to leave Ivory Coast and live safe.
--- The total cost of flights is about the same as if I went from Dakar - Chicago - Accra, now I can fly Accra - Chicago - Accra if I wish.

Boom and the Decisions is to go back to Ghana
Before I could finish this post, a good solution has erupted from the confusion. During my Monday morning, work discussion with Boy Genius in India as we were discussing how to finish the book a solution came. The book is going to be sold with a couple of DVD’s with videos. While talking, I realized I could use Bah, my girl to video record me as we record 25 travel gear invention videos. (Bah as camera person) That was the tipper, I am going to kill to bird with one stone, and help Bah go keep from being killed inside the county of Ivory Coast a.k.a. Cote d’Ivoire.

Ivory Coast People Flee to Ghana
I have talked a couple of times with Bah in Ivory Coast, her comment today was,
"Half the people in the village are leaving to Ghana."
"The banks are closed, there is no money."

It is complicated and confusing, however the bottom line is this, I know if I go to Ghana and assist Bah, she will be safe.

I was on, there are many clips from the Movie "A Knight’s Tale." I really wanted to show a small clip that is relevant to travelers. I made the clip, upload it and they blocked it worldwide.

Why are there many other clips up? For educational reasons, I have uploaded the video; you can download the MP4 file is you wish to explain why…?

My Nephew Michael Lehman 12, is First Runner-up in Spelling Bee

I am in Africa, and my nephew Michael participating in a spelling bee makes me homesick for Indiana. It feels as if the USA is calling me home. I would love to return to the USA and visit, however, it appears it would be sensible to return to Ghana and help Bah escape the war in Ivory Coast.

Photo of Michael in 2004
I took this photo of Michael in 2004 in the kitchen of my parent’s house. This photo captures the spirit of Mike in my eyes, a young man, curious, inquisitive, yet not jade or hurt, he is a happy boy, he is an "Indiana" small town boy, and I hope he learns to appreciate this great gift he received as a lucky sperm.

I am celebrating my nephew Michael today:

My friend Rambling Robert recommends this poem:

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveller, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference...

Wow, this quote from the Internet site is how I feel about Travel Gear

Vantexan recommended a great gear company in a comment; then I went and found information about the company, it appears to have some great travel clothing. I am not sure if cheap or expensive, so not sure of values, but this gear company is on the right path.

Quote from "About" page:

Please Remind Andy to K.I.S.S. - Keep It Simple Stupid

"The art of leadership is saying no, not saying yes. It is very easy to say yes."--- Tony Blair quotes former British Prime Minister

Please, do not leave Donuts sitting around the house, I will eat them.

I do not play stupid games with myself, I know me, if you put a Donut near me, then I am going to eat it. It feels as if every one in my life has decided to throw out bait in front of me, I am tempted to bite, instead I must continuously remind myself, to
"Keep it simple stupid."

Sometimes I say to myself,
"You must think I am awfully stupid, if you think I am going to bite."

I often feel like this phrase "Keep It Simple Stupid" needs translated, it means:
"If I am confused, be smart enough to walk away."
"When it seems obvious to say yes, then say yes, up until that point, continue to say no or you are stupid."

Well, please read below at your own risk, what I am writing just becomes more and more confusing. The moral of this story is that life is meant to be simple, and life is simple providing I continue to say no. I will sit here in this Hotel and say no, watch movies, play on my computer, walk around looking at people until one day the obvious option is presented to me, then I will say yes.

Disliked Comments?
Sometimes, I dislike a comment, why, because the comment was not obviously clear, and there is no reason to confuse readers, unless they want to be confused. Then they can log in and be confused, and read convoluted comments. The primary goal of writing is to lead people out of confusion, not into confusion.

I want to live simple, and I do, and I will continue to have a simple life because I am the king of saying no to people, when confusion is offered up on my plate to eat.

Because I say no, it is hard to leave Senegal
Yesterday, I went to the Guinea Embassy here in Dakar, Senegal with the intention of getting a multiple entry visa. I was expecting the Embassy to say,
"100 Dollars for a two month multiple entry visa."
They said,
"260 Dollars for a six month multiple entry visa."

I have learned, it is easier to understand the Visa expeditor companies’ explanations of Visa coast than the actual embassies. I have used this company, so I have been checking on their site or calling to ask visa cost. Visa Help

260 Dollars was too much, this is a lot of money to visit a country for 20 days, and if I need to pay on average 100 dollars for the rest of the "West" West Africa countries it is an extreme amount of money.

It was simple, so to K.I.S.S. I said, no, then I took a taxi back to my Hotel room.

Estimate of Visa Cost for "West" West Africa

260 - Guinea
100 - Cape Verde
100 - Gambia
100 - Guinea-Bissau - I need to enter twice
100 - Liberia
100 - Mali
100 - Mauritania
Free - Senegal - I need to enter 2-3 times
100 - Sierra Leone
960 US Dollars is Total

I may need to pay 960 Dollars for what I was hoping to be a two-month trip…

Visa cost change from country to country, they are not the same, and you can shop around for better prices given from Embassies in different countries. The problem is this, a visa is given with a requirement you enter the country. Example, if I got a Ghana visa here, I must enter Ghana with in 90 days, or lose the visa, this little requirement makes visas very complicated. Otherwise, I could sit in Washington D.C. get 10 visas, and come to Africa, but that would be simple, easy and make travel in Africa simple. Confusions is expensive, people get frustrated, angry and just pay big money to avoid the stress.

I am burning daylight, it is time to stop in to see my parents, say hello to the USA. I know it is possible I buy a 1300 Dollar round-trip ticket from Senegal to Chicago and come back to Africa in a few months after I re-charge my batteries.

What is the value of writing a Travel Blogging?
There are many, however, earning money is very low on the list, it is almost impossible to make enough money by Travel Blogging to justify doing it. The best reason to write a daily diary is above, what I wrote above is forcing me to make clear decisions.

I got up, walked over and made a cup of coffee, upon returning; I could hear myself thinking,
"Andy, what is the point of going to these countries for two months? You want to go for 6-12 months to enjoy them, do not go right now."

I am thinking, 1000 Dollars round-trip from Dakar to Chicago, and I do it.

Bah Called from Ivory Coast Today
While typing this, Bah called me from Cote d’Ivoire, a.k.a. Ivory Coast. She is afraid and it appears she will flee to Ghana soon; the Allasane Soldiers are bringing war to the country of Cote d’Ivoire. I am not sure what to do; I need a five-year visa to Ghana, they will only give me six months here, and I must enter in three months.
