I am going rob one bag from Chris, and send him home with a Junk bag from Thailand. Then Mark and Taia are suppose to bring down my second victim, one for front, second for back.

I purchased two wheeled backpack in Thailand and now know everything bad about wheeled bags, however they will soon fall apart.

I still have a the Windmill Bag living in my mind.

---------------------------------
Panajachel Guatemala
Lago Atitlan - Lake Atitlan
Friday, May 9, 2008
Andy of HoboTraveler.com --- Free Hotel Webpage
----------------------------------

I told Mark and Taia,
“Bring me a bag, you cannot go wrong, I will take to a shoe repair shop and modify it.”

I looked at Chris, the bag is ready to be robbed, this bag looks nice, the harness is great, however the pocket, zipper, and pull system is miles way from the finish line. Too easy to rob, a great weekender bag, will take some work to make it pro.

I wish the idea of security would just once float into the mind of manufactures of backpacks. The zippers systems has some serious problems, I am not clean on how to upgrade zippers. My Thailand 10 dollar bag has better zipper pulls.

My present plans for making backpacks is to order all the materials from USA vendors, pick up the materials and go to Canada and make the backpack myself, doing all the sowing myself.

Chris showed me some neat pockets, saying these were good, my comment was,
"If they was that good, they would be stuffed full of items, not empty."

Do not fall in love with a pack, modify it to fit your needs, it is tool, not you wife.

Plan to Rape Kelty Redwing 3100 Pack
Read Blog Online ---

When, I see the person again, I try to repeat the word for their approval.

In the end I try to tell people who want to learn Spanish, and I say,
“Stop speaking English.”

Stop speaking baby talk, English is of no value, it sounds like Baby talk to the Spanish speaking people, they think you sound stupid.

When I am in the USA and a Mexican person speaks Spanish, I tell them.
“Speak English.”

On the other hand, I do tell the owners of hotels here in Guatemala that want English clients, hey.
“Speak English.”

When I hear conversations in both Spanish and English I play a game, I ask myself,
“Who is the student?”

The one that demands to use their own language is the teacher, the one who learns a new word is the student.

Simple to learn a language, stop talking the old language, use the one everyone else is talking than try to think.
“Hmm. I only know five words, I am more stupid than a one year old child.”

People ask me how my Spanish is, and I say,
“I have lived over five years in a Spanish speaking countries, I am a five year old.”

My 60 year old friend Chris ask me,
“Which country should I go to study Spanish?”

I wanted to say El Salvador or Colombia, and they go to a small village with nobody in the village that speaks English.

Learning a language is not fun, it is a lot of work.

In the end, I think he needs to find him a nice Guapa Senorita that does not speak a word of English and refuses to speak word of English under an condition… maybe he will become a student. I hope he realizes one day this is excellent advice...

Spanish is not an on or off, not a 1 or 0, it is maybe you want to learn Spanish, or maybe you do not, it is always a maybe, it only is a 1 when you have nobody who speak English around you.

Learning Spanish is Not 1 or 0
Read Blog Online ---

We will survive, we are Americans.

---------------------------------
Panajachel Guatemala
Lago Atitlan - Lake Atitlan
Tuesday, May 6, 2008
Andy of HoboTraveler.com --- Free Hotel Webpage
----------------------------------

During World War II, we carried on the WORLD War on the whole planet and prevailed, this mosquito size war in Iraq is nothing.

I feel a shame when I feel real anger in people over Obama, as if somehow a Black President would destroy the country. It is not possible, a Black President is just a different Channel, the People of the USA run the country, he has to know he report to the people, not the black people, not to the white people, but to the USA people. This white or black people... this is too childish.

I fear both Obama or Hillary, I do think the power has gone to their heads, they want to be ruler of the planet so bad, they would sell out the Iraqi people, the world, and the right thing, this is the problem, yet, this is what politicians do, the suck up to win. I do know that both can lose their job is they abuse the power, hell; President Bill Clinton almost lost his Presidency for having a girl friend and lying.

In the rest of the world rulers of countries rape their countries and do not lose their job, our President almost lost his jobs for lying. This explains the USA so well...

I continually say, if President Bush lied, he would have lost his Job; Clinton lied over his ugly fat girlfriend and was close to being impeached.

There is no crisis on this planet, except for the lack of good judgment that exists because of the Fourth Estate.

I think we should put the worst Candidate in office, nothing will change, and the USA will just continue to be a stable Republic.

I feel glad for Obama, this man is the biggest man in the Hood, they will never have a good excuse to use the Race Card again. I want this card removed from the deck, they really have no right to complain, the blacks of the USA have a great life, and Obama is proving it.

I think we should elect Obama, maybe the worst possible leader for the USA, but will for sure show the rest of the World that President Bush was in President during a difficult time.

USA Can Handles Obama or Hillary
Read Blog Online ---

If I would have had a black felt marker in my hand it would have been written on the wall.

This building is the typical concrete cave, the prior location of the WIFI internet was inside a concrete room, that only allowed one room had a 4 bar connection. They moved the router now to a better location that gave the one side of the hotel access, maybe five rooms now. In the great wisdom and utter stupidity they added a password, did not tell the management, the management does not use WIFI, whereby having a great cluster F38K.

Now, the connection is great in the room, however I moved out because it is now to hot as the whether got hotter, and moved over to the Shalom with Wade and Mira, Chris arrived and we had a long day of too much talk.
Hotel Casa Shalom

The Shalom has WIFI, they knew the Password to the router, and the system has an equally bad set up, however the traveler conversation is about 10 times better. Oops, I think I did not log in the password for future use; I will need to publish this one also to may mobile office page.
Mobile Office

I cannot get WIFI to over 20 feet from the router, refuses to go through concrete walls, and the world keep making it more complicated not simpler.

My brain is big, quick, works like a Lamborghini shifting into warp speed. I have many techie friends; they do not blog very often because they find it too onerous. I wish to help the world earn money using the internet and blogging, the first step is to get them an internet connection that works.

I truly believe Starbucks is not a place to work on Web pages and do believe working in my Hotel room is a good idea.

I remember in College the ones who studied with the Music at full volume, smoking a joint, the rather clueless.

It is not saying you cannot, I am saying most people are not that brilliant. I can work in Starbucks, I can work in Chaos, and I can study smoking a joint with the music at full volume. However, to be effective, it was much better to go to the Library and hide in the stacks than be interrupted by my druggie and drunk friends in the dorm.

Same here, to be effective, the hotel has to give what they say, easy to use, helpful connections, and a person who really wants to work and live on the road has to go work.

WIFI is now maybe in 1 of 500 hotels or less on the planet, these two in Antigua are in the top of the bunch, the ones without WIFI are the problems. However, no time to let down, time to get these boys online and working correctly.

I still am waiting; I want to see a complete instruction sheet given to me when I enter a hotel on how to use the wireless. I know them reception people do not know how to use it.

I am not good at being an angry person, however I went into a great acting job in the Hotel, I want them to never forget me pushing them, calling them names, and I want them to never want to experience that again. Therefore, when a little old lady from Pasadena want to call her grandchild on skype.com in the USA that is in the Hospital, what is suppose to be easy, it easy. If life was really that complicated for me, it is easy for me, I can blog from anywhere, and do.

Wireless Internet Password Antigua Guatemala
Read Blog Online ---

I think that would slow down the people enough to make them know they are on vacations to relax and enjoy the day. I really do not want to live with stresse out people on vacation.

The staff of my hotel took the weekend off, they do not care about clients, they know the money is guaranteed, we are in a tourist trap... hehehe The new workers are managing the crowds, he least amount of experience when needed the most.

Tourist Economics is exactly opposite of normal.

Start Vacations on Thursday
Read Blog Online ---

The way I stopped being and alcoholic was simple, I stopped talking with drunks and search for the happy people.

Happy people taught me life is good, and I have no excuse to complain.

Guatemala is a Happy Color, this is the secret…

---------------------------------
Panajachel Guatemala
Lago Atitlan - Lake Atitlan
Friday, May 2, 2008
Andy of HoboTraveler.com --- Free Hotel Webpage
----------------------------------

Walking by this pile of Color makes me a grateful person, and I feel Guatemala as a lucky country.

I made a decision to pass extreme judgment on people and enforce it to protect my life. I know I cannot hang around with the drunks complaining how their lives are the result of their boss.

I am responsible.

Try to feel all them colors, the colors of Guatemala are happy, this country laughs easy.

I pass instant judgment on people dressed in black. This type of person makes me nervous, There is too much truth to the idea that the good guys where the White Hats.

I am way too old to try to give morbid people an excuse; I just cannot be bothered with the unhappy people of life. If I cannot find a smile in a person, I leave them forever, never to return. I only have one life, I am responsible to make it my life and to live it, I cannot allow the lack of color to enter my life, and I need to protect my happiness.

This is on the Santander street in Panajachel, Guatemala, a street full of color, yet and extremely tourist area. Workers in Tourist area become cynical as the tourist abuse them, and they abuse the tourist. However, Guatemala is not cynical, go to Europe and walk around in tourist areas and you will see some very rage filled angry people.

I am thinking about an experiment on this street.

I am going to make a 10 minute video, I will walk down this street and say hello to every Foreigner I meet. I will then find one Guatemala person and say hello, preferably not a vendor who wants to sell me something.

I think 100 percent of the Guatemalan people will reply and say hello back. I think about 1 in 10 of the Foreigner will even acknowledge my presence.

Guatemalan people are not afraid of life, and they are a Happy Color.

Too easy in life to be happy, say hello to people, if they ignore you, take them off the list. Take a long look at your friends, are they dressed in Happy Colors, do they smile quick. Or are they doing their best to be emotional vampires.

Guatemala is a Happy Color
Read Blog Online ---

The Foreigners have taught Argentina, Chile, and other countries how to be Trendy, fashionable and do drugs, now Bolivia and Peru are becoming fashionable and trendy…

http://robertstravels.blogspot.com/2008/05/travel-update-from-mancora-peru.html

Bolivia has been profiting for 30-50 years from producing Coca Leaves, they now deserve to suffer from their dirty business.

Colombia is more or less the business manager of this business.

People like Chavez, that nut in Bolivia who is President, Che, Castro and other are wiling to abuse the poor to stay in power. Che got what he deserved, dead on arrival in Bolivia, soon Castro will go visit his maker in the bottom, not top, his partner in evil ways. The leaders of countries in the world often use their people as pawns. In the USA, Europe, the power of the small people is controlling, in the other parts of the world Chavez type have voice, and the small people have none, then silly trendy people agree with this dangerous nuts. I will be very glad for Cuba when Castro dies, I would pay to have Chavez assasinated, I really do not think the CIA has any huevos.

Drug Dealers Using Their Drug
Read Blog Online ---

Yuck!

I must send my special thanks to whoever sent me the one about poop in the glue on envelopes, because I now have to use a wet sponge with every envelope that needs sealing.

Also, I have to scrub the top of every can I open now, for the same reason.

I no longer have any savings because I gave it to a sick girl (Penny Brown)who is about to die in the hospital for the 1,387,258th time.

I no longer have any money at all, but that will change once I receive the$15,000 that Bill Gates/Microsoft and AOL are sending me for participating in their special e-mail program.

I no longer worry about my soul because I have 363,214 angels looking out for me, and St. Theresa's novena has granted my every wish.

I no longer eat KFC because their chickens are actually horrible mutant freaks with no eyes or feathers.

I no longer use cancer-causing deodorants, even though I smell like a water buffalo on a hot day.

Thanks to you, I have learned that my prayers only get answered if I forward an e-mail to seven of my friends and make a wish within five minutes.

Because of your concern, I no longer drink Coca Cola because it can remove toilet stains.

I no longer can buy gasoline without taking someone along to watch the car, so a serial killer won't crawl in my back seat when I'm pumping gas.

I no longer drink Pepsi or Dr. Pepper since the people who make these products are atheists who refuse to put 'Under God'on their cans.

I no longer use Saran wrap in the microwave because it causes cancer.

And, thanks for letting me know I can't boil a cup of water in the microwave anymore because it will blow up in my face...disfiguring me for life.

I no longer check the coin return on pay phones because I could be pricked with a needle infected with AIDS.

I no longer go to shopping malls because someone will drug me with a perfume sample and rob me.

I no longer receive packages from UPS or FedEx since they are actually Al Qaeda in disguise.

I no longer shop at Target since they are French and don't support our American troops or the Salvation Army.

I no longer answer the phone because someone will ask me to dial a number for which I will get a phone bill with calls to Jamaica , Uganda , Singapore and Uzbekistan .

I no longer buy expensive cookies from Neiman Marcus, since I now have their recipe.

Thanks to you, I can't use anyone's toilet but mine because a big brown African spider is lurking under the seat to cause me instant death when it bites my butt.

And thanks to your great advice, I can't ever pick up $5.00 dropped in the parking lot, because it probably was placed there by a sex molester waiting underneath my car to grab my leg.

I can no longer drive my car because I can't buy gas from certain gas companies!

If you don't send this e-mail to at least 144,000 people in the next 70 minutes, a large dove with diarrhea will land on your head at 5:00 p.m. this afternoon, and the fleas from 12 camels will infest your back, causing you to grow a hairy hump. I know this will occur because it actually happened to a friend of my next door neighbor's ex-mother-in-law's second husband's cousin's beautician...

Have a wonderful day.

Oh, by the way...

A German scientist from Argentina , after a lengthy study, has discovered that people with insufficient brain activity read their e-mail with their hand on the mouse.

Don't bother taking it off now; it's too late

---
A joke, but to me is real, I hear travelers and tourisst list out all these things they cannot do, water, walking, etc, I think to myself, if you concentrated on living and not dying your life would be worth living instead of the joke I see it.

Live your life today, I drink the water.

I hope my readers consider these fears above silly.

Thanks for Educational Emails
Read Blog Online ---

I believe it is 97 percent a food problem, and 3 percent a water problem.

Is one drop of water a problem? There is some junk scientist misconception that the more your drink the worst. I feel of propose that one drop is as bad a glass. I believe one drop of water in my body with a water borne disease is just as serious as a glass of the water.

I am 100 percent sure I drink the water; I am 100 percent sure all travelers in these countries drink at least 20 to 50 drops of water per day. Many ways for water to enter your body, and the best way is to eat in any restaurant, I will guarantee the dishes were not washed with purified water. I could make a list of 50 ways water enters a person world.

I do believe there is contaminant in the water that comes out through the pores of people skin.

Tortillas are not fully cooked, they are semi raw, full of water from anywhere, I ate a few, and finally have decided this is not a property cook food, and tortilla dough would grow many funky animales.

Most people are not sick from the water of the food, they came to a country like Guatemala, fell in love with a food, like Mangos, then ate too many, gluttony was the problem, not the food.

I have been in too many kitchens, people do not understand how to be clean, they do not use hot water, the water from the tap is not pure. Nobody believes they need to use 100 percent purified water, they have water, and they use it.

I worked on trying to keep all my water boiled in Benin, this is not so hard to do, however to clean every dish with boil water is difficult, if not impossible. I could do it if I owned a house, but difficult in a room or a guest kitchen of a hotel.

In the end, I believe eating in any restaurant is the most dangerous, street food is ok providing you are watching them cook it. Any vegetable or uncooked food is a for sure dangerous. I am trying to figure out if it is possible to soak vegetables in chlorinated water and is adequate. I tend to think a canned vegetable over cooked is safest.

When I read a travel warning about food, I think great, water or food is a problem, please give me real, actual ways of preparing or choosing my foods that works. I do not care if you warn me, this is of no value, I need to know real scientific studied ways of cleaning food and preparing, not just watch out.

I truly do not trust the cleaning people in any hotel or restaurant to wash the dishes. Maybe, I will make a movie of the typical world method.

There is the belief that the more drops of water, the worst, this is just seems like gambler fallacy.

I do hope my readers realize, I seldom get sick, yes, I have been sick a few times, however compared to the tourist, almost zero. I eat properly, however I do drink the water often, and for sure I do not know any way to avoid drinking the water, I do not think this is possible. I think the big warning should be for uncooked foods, then recommend that all people tour the kitchen before they eat.

I Drank One Drop of Water
Read Blog Online ---

However, I do not think a Hobo turned down a good day job or a way to keep his freedom to keep on moving down the tracks.

I receive this email at an ironic time, please read and I will answer after the letter from Bob L.

I will not stop blogging, it is what I do for fun.

---------------------------------
Panajachel Guatemala
Lago Atitlan - Lake Atitlan
Thursday, May 1, 2008
Andy of HoboTraveler.com --- Free Hotel Webpage
----------------------------------

READER OF BLOG WROTE

Name: Bob L
Email: xxx deleted
Country: USA

Message:

I noticed something missing from yours, and other blogs I read. A way to contribute $$$. I would think that the majority of the click through money you get is not from regular readers. I know I for one would never click through an ad. Yes, I have clicked through to get books from some sites to help them out, but that is few and far between. I have not noticed that option on your site anyway. Those of us that read your site on a regular basis might want to contribute a small amount of money every once in a while. A PayPal button to contribute a bit would be nice.

Create a nice looking, easy to find banner or something and ask for contributions to help you continue publishing. I don't know how much money you would get, but I would think it would be worth the effort. I know I would throw you $10 once in a while just to help you continue to write. Hell, I have paid a lot more for magazine subscriptions that I don't get nearly as much enjoyment out of.

Bob L

ANSWER

Thanks Bob, I truly appreciate this letter. I will continue to write, you just paid me.

In a way, I blog to entertain you, and to entertain myself, and in a way to think through my life, blogging clarifies my life, make it easier to see and understand me.

As I understand, you want to give me a donation because you enjoy the blog. Great, I achieve one of my goals, to entertain and enjoy the day… Great.

I feel I am a lucky man; I today have 10 times more money than I need to travel because of them clicks. If I took your donation, I would feel greedy, I am doing great, and life is good. I am happy that you and other readers enjoy my cheeky view of life, and my witness of the world.

About five years ago there was Donation here, donate there links all over the site, and many people gave me money. I took the donation links off as soon as I was making enough money from other advertisements.

I like to travel, I do not like money, however, money is needed to travel. I have enough money to travel.

Maybe you feel like I am giving you something for nothing. I am more than happy to give knowing I never get a penny from anyone for just talking about my story. I refuse to take on many big advertisers, they want me to talk nice about them, and pay me, I would rather complain about them and be poor, then tell lies for money.

I have been lucky; I do not have to be nice to any hotel, tour, advertiser, or person. I do not owe anyone my allegiance; this makes my writing honest, no beholding for help to anyone.

I have an idea, pay me back this way, walk up to a few people you meet and say.

“Life is good.”
"Andy of HoboTraveler.com says Hello, he likes new friends."

Many people have helped me in my life who gave to me when I had nothing, I can never repay them, I can only pass it down, and help others.

I have traveled the world, I am sure life is good. The world is having the biggest outbreak of prosperity and peace in the history of this planet. Hell, I am having trouble finding and danger to face for fun.

I hope you chuckle, laugh, and realize, I am living my dream life.
- a life less normal. -

The good Gods watch over me. Now stand up, walk down the street, give people a big smile, and find a few people to say,
“Life is Good.”

Pass is around, people may eventually agree, I am sure the news on televison is negative, this just is not real life on planet earth. Life is good.

I will not stop blogging, it is what I do for fun.
Read Blog Online ---

That one is a little boring, but the only site I know that is trying to collect every hotel or traveler room on the planet. New, this is New

The other, I guess I can tell the world I have positive I have traveled for 10 years continuously, I have not lived in any one place for longer than three months.
New, this is New

I know many people who have lived outside the USA for 10 years; I do not know anybody who truly has traveled outside their home country for 10 years. I know many who work as teachers, live, work, travel intermittently, or more common. They go home, work, and return to travel.

There are tons of games being played with travelers.

Now, who really cares if I traveled for 10 years, not really a big deal? However, I truly earn more money per year now; I am becoming a richer hobo by not going home.

Here is a hint, when a person is back in their home country, or stays to long, or just does not seem to leave, it may mean they are not really traveling.

However, I can say, I have a job, I blog.
I can say, I have an internet page and I make money.
I am a hobo because I travel from place to place in a way searching for a job or way to make a living.

A Hobo did not need to go home…

Understand this, I do not have a home, I have not lived anywhere for 10 years. My home is not Indiana; I have not lived there for 10 years. I do not say I do not have a home, because nobody believe me, they do not think that is possible.

This blog post is about me complaining, people really do not believe that a person can make a webpage and earn money.

Ironic coincidence, I just got an email about how to give me money before I had time to blog this, I will read and post.

A Blog is Not a Job
Read Blog Online ---

I have never met him, I do not know what he looks like, and I do not think he knows what I look like, however we are great friends.

---------------------------------
Panajachel Guatemala
Lago Atitlan - Lake Atitlan
Thursday, May 1, 2008
Andy of HoboTraveler.com --- Free Hotel Webpage
----------------------------------

This type of friendship is the greatest, we are two people who like to talk to each other, or more correctly we like to email each other, sometimes we talk on Skype.com.

I do not believe many people have friends in life that has nothing to do with status, money, fashion or looks. I think we both just like to talk about funky subjects like Solar, Electricity, Hot Springs, and Travel, and many other subjects.

I was once a handsome man of 23; I broke my femur, arm, and sternum in a motorcycle accident. I lost maybe 20 to 30 what I thought was friends, because I was then a cripple, one or two remained, the rest could not be bothered with the real me.

This experience with drinking problems and becoming well known as a Real Estate broker taught me the biggest lesson in life.

Find friends that like to talk with me, not friends who are impressed with who I am, if I succeed something resembling friends come and want to hang around, they may or may not be my friend. Funny though, failure finds more friends than success...

Nevertheless, a good friend just likes to hang around talking, what we are doing in second in priority, we like to discuss our world.

I am a lucky man, I know I have a few friends who like to listen to me, and I like to listen to them.

I see husband and wives who do anything to not have to listen to each other and think how sad this is, they are together for the wrong reasons.

My mother and father are usually in the same room, for 50 plus years they like to be close to each other, they can say anything they want, and I know they like to listen to each other.

I am very excited to hear what Chris has to say on Saturday and for about three weeks while he is in Guatemala or we wander to Costa Rica. Chris is a good friend, I have asked for 10 years for many friends who have known me for 30 years, they have not came to visit, but one I have never met in person is coming to visit.

Fame and money is just a fleeting pain in the butt, however true friends take time and listening.

This is not about doing something, life is knowing who we like to do things with, I know I will do something every day of my life, I search for friends to talk with while doing what I do.

The travel destination needs the hope of new friends.

Chris my Friend of 7-10 Years with No Face
Read Blog Online ---

The culture has more meaning when you understand why people live where they live, whether water, close to work, family, there is a story being told. I believe that properly priced services and products help a country to thrive. I want Guatemala, and all the other countries to prosper.

Here is two example of how tourism hurts the locals.

---------------------------------
Panajachel Guatemala
Lago Atitlan - Lake Atitlan
Wednesday, April 30, 2008
Andy of HoboTraveler.com --- Free Hotel Webpage
----------------------------------

A girl working in my Hotel earns 30 Q per day.
It cost me 45 Q to have my laundry done.
I would love to pay this 30 Q labor and not the bos, or about 15 Q to do my laundry; I would love to pay the locals my money.

Wealth Condensation
The rich get richer, and the poor stay poor, not a problem in the USA, but most of the planet yes.

Mira from Ladythetramp.com blog said,
- It cost more to eat than to rent a hotel room. -

The cost of services makes the locals compete. When a business realizes they can ask 4-5 Q per pound, plus cheat on the weight, they stop providing fair cost of living services to the own people.

When the cost of eating in restaurant is five times the rate of a village maybe 25 miles from here, the locals cannot afford to go to eat. What is worst is when they feel an obligation to eat in these restaurants to be cool, to keep up with their neighbors.

I am 100 percent sure that about 50 percent of the families of the world cannot afford a cell phone, yet will pay half their incomes to have one, or a motorcycle, and not feed or clothe their children properly.

The more tourist and volunteers come and blow money twice as high as the locals can pay, the more the cost of living infates, and the poorer the people become.

Examples of Tourist Caused Inflation
Read Blog Online ---

I want a Hotel that is close to what I want to see or experience.

This will change in the future, as normal people write and take the rosy colored glasses off and the truth is revealed. Presently in Panajachel, Guatemala on Lago Atitlan, there are some hotels made only for the tourist fools.

I can rent a furnished apartment for 180 US per month, with complete kitchen, cable TV, and Internet.

I am 100 percent sure, if I am going to pay over 15 US dollars per night for rooms in this area, they better start kissing my arse a lot better than what is now offered. Luxury is not about a room, it is about the people in the hotel, a stupid boy at the door, and a stupid girl from the outlying cities is clueless on how to treat anyone above a 3 dollar per night level.

What I hope happens in the future is the bed and breakfast type, small family hotels more or less put the five star types into proper priced type of business. Maybe you call this the boutique, however when I hear this word, I know they are being clever.

I believe soon the good people who run hotels will take over from the slumlord hotels.

Slumlords are difficult to find in the modern countries, they have trouble existing. I believe soon the slumlord hotels who extract the maximum amount of money from tourist for the least amount of actual value will have financial problems. I believe the great deals will surface because of the voice of the people.

Tourist and Travelers are becoming noisy, even the least well-informed internet person is finding ways to announce to the world terrible service. The global tourism market will soon bypass the tourist trap, slumlord hotels and go straight to the outlying great mom and pop types. The person will be fully aware of what the real cost of living in these cities should be.

I truly never want to hear,
- In the USA this cost .... this is not the USA, so very stupid.-
The average Joe, maybe Pedro in Guatemala makes 5 dollars per day.

A great room in Pana is less than 15 and starts at 3 US.
A good apartment starts at 100 per month and goes up to great for 300 per month.

This type of statement will one day reach the good but naïve tourist and they will stop purchasing the slumlord deals offered by travel agents and internet booking pages.

You Can Bypass the Tourist Area Travel
Read Blog Online ---

Europeans are in worst shape, so no point in talking....

It is wildly difficult to retire in Ecuador, Retire in Costa Rica, Retire in the Buzz of Panama, Retire in Thailand, Retire in Spain, Retire anywhere but in your home country.

This retirement needs a plan; I cannot imagine Retiring in any country other than my own…. But… but… but…

---------------------------------
Panajachel Guatemala
Lago Atitlan - Lake Atitlan
Monday, April 28, 2008
Andy of HoboTraveler.com --- Free Hotel Webpage
----------------------------------

I can retire and go live, I refuse to buy, it just never makes sense.

Can you give up this ridiculous idea of buying other countries problems, the average American just is not up to the job of investing in land in other countries, this is incredibly risky, about the same as being a day trader.

I was a real Estate Broker, Real Estate Instructor for Broker, I purchased over 60 residential or commercial property, I sold two properties per week.

Every time I hear the words,
- Retire in Panama, -

I know what this means to a USA citizen, they are going to Panama to invest in land or buy a stupid home in Panama.

The smart plans is this, go and live in Panama for a couple of years, then maybe think about.. NOT, no buying, still a bad deal. Get on the internet and look at all the foreighners trying to sell property on the net, the reason is simple, they cannot sell to people who live in the country, they need a sucker on the net.

I am astounded here in Panajachel and Antigua, Guatemala, I had an American say he wanted to sell his commercial property for 300,000 US dollars, for a commercial real Hotel property to sell for 300,000 dollars, he needs to collect about 6000 to 9000 dollar per month in room rents.

I did the math, the real actualized value of the property is at best in cap sense about 125,000, and in a bad location for that.

The delusional values of property, the buying of property on the planet of property priced at get rich dream to get them prices is scary.

The planet cannot do this; we need a depression just to correct this mess.

Plan to go live for a couple of years, is penis envy so bad that you have to prove you can buy Quetzals in Guatemala, or Thai Baht in Thailand.

Retirement Needs a Plan
Read Blog Online ---

Plus as I see it, I could wire up one of these small 15 room mom and pop hotels myself, just seems the like the KISS solution.

I have not put my finger in this idea yet, but this proposition for Hotels seems worth about 500 dollars per hotel in saving and happy campers.

http://www.systechtelecom.net/Spec_ST-Leaky.htm

http://www.afltele.com/products/fiber_optic_cable/coax_cable/leaky_coax/

Need to figure this one out!
