Purchased 2 MEI Voyageur Backpacks I called today and had a great conversation with Ahmed Hassan. I need two backpacks urgently and he helped me out, he says they will be delivered by the 19-20 of February. I would love to have a great traveler bag for my trip to Ethiopia, it would make life easier.

This is a photo of the bag, I believe it may be the best possible design for a professional traveler on the market.
Two bags cost 295.00 US Dollars including shipping, the man was really nice on the phone today. I paid with Paypal.com, he understood my situation and said they would be shipped today.

Seems like nice bags but wont it be a pain to always have to carry them in your hands? I mean wouldnt a high litre backpack be better? Love your blog, keep on traveling!
Good Question, I used a high liter bag for the first five years of my travels. THREE REASONS1. Balance, the high liter puts all the weight on your back, you need to walk stooped over, with two back I distributed the weight.2. The front bag will carry my computer, it also will have items of higher money value in it. I have two options. I can take the computer bag out of the bag and carry onto a a plane and check the second bag.I would have saved 30 dollars on my last Continental Airlines from from Peru to Chicago if I would have had these two bags.I had to check to bags, my front bag a 30 liter Kelty bag because of the the shape of the bag, not the volume. It would not fit into one of them check boxes because it was fat.14 x 22 x 9 is what you want, not the chubby bags for a traveler.Third ReasonThere has been times when I carried both bags onto the plane, if I have two of this size, I can put them in the overhead. With this system, I have 80-90 liters of space and well balanced.

Hey Andy, have you use the Travel Master from MEI? And if so did you like it, and if not, what do you think from reading the review?
The Bag came on the 16th, so arrived earlier than agreed.I have not used the Travel Master, I think this bag has pockets on the outside of bag. The Voyager does too, there is a security problem with easy to reach pockets.

Hi Andy, I hope your new bags work out. I have enjoyed mine. I have never lived out of mine for more than 2 months at a time. So your test will be of great interest to me. I have used it often though for the 4&1/2 years I have had it. Have even hauled it around on the back of a motorcycle. has not failed in anyway yet. Later, Tom the Okie
I will make videos and take many photos. I am going to allow the bag to work, if it fails I will fix it.I suspect there are two problems, I am going to carry the necessary hardware and strap to fix it if and when it fails. This bag is the best I can find to buy as of today, I know of no better bag design for a professional traveler.
