I Need a Vacation from Work
I Need a Vacation from Work
I have said many times, the secret to happiness is to do more fun things in a day than sad things. In the last week I have had a never ending list of problems to solve, nothing has gone correctly or easily, I am beat. (hmm beatnik)
I was laughing, Robin who I was planning to meet in Kenya Africa wrote and said she did not want to go the Congo, she thinks is will be an "ordeal." I was laughing when I read the word, for sure any person who lives on planet earth has days when life is an ordeal, where the pain of the day is more than the pleasure. She is 100 percent correct, going across the DRC Congo would be an "ordeal." I was laughing, for sure going to the "no contacted tribe" area was an ordeal. She is correct, if she does not want to do this ordeal, she should not, there is no reason to travel, it is for enjoyment.
I was laughing, my life the last couple of weeks has been an ordeal, ironic that she chose the best word to describe the last few weeks of my life.

--- What is your travel problem?
I will write a Travel Tips with the solution
I live in world that is very controllable, however the only way to control it is by making good choices or leaving, I knew the week in the jungle would be an ordeal, I expected it to be.
I finally went to the Doctor yesterday here in Lima, I have a nodule, I do not know the correct word in English. The doctor says it is either a piece of fat or inflamed nerve, I get three injections while in Pucallpa, Peru. The Doctor here in Lima said there was no danger, it is just painful. I was OK with this, because the pain is 50 percent less than it was two months ago, I am actually doing great compared to then.
- Computer Breaks
- Nodule that prods my sciatic nerve continuously
- Robin cancels, she did this before I purchased 1000 dollars worth of tickets, so this is very good news, I have not changed any plans for because of her, just was making possible plans.
---- Now I do not know where to go, or what to do.
- No friends, all my conversations are functional, not interesting.
- I want to fly to Bogota, Colombia, the ticket is 450 US Dollars one-way... expensive, I can fly to the USA for the same price.
- I get some reader who wants me to be politically correct.H.A.L.T.
There is a saying to never get to H

Good point: there is a big difference between making possible plans and planning. Travelers make possible plans until the point of commitment, which is usually the last moment . . . before that it is all only discussions of possibility. Good that you brought this up.
I could still get you that number for a TCM doctor in Hangzhou for the next time you move east. He is real good.
Rocky roads always turn a corner on to clear horizons.
I traveled through Europe in the early 70's. I remember taking a 'vacation' from my travels - setting up my small tent in a camp ground in Kalamata, Greece and pledging not to
visit a museum, church, archeological site, whatever for two weeks - I needed a break - your blog today reminded me of that - thank you
p.s. at that time I was a 22 year old female travelling alone, mostly hitchhiking on a $5.00 a day budget - I've been wanting to hit the road again ever since - reading your blog keeps that idea alive for me - second thank yhou
really every one love vacations but mine father and grand pa not love vacations they hate vacations.
