Video from Lago Atitlan, Guatemala
I apologize for publishing this video in un-real time, however my new camera makes videos in a .MOV file, and it took me a lot of work to figure out how to convert it to something acceptable for Windows Movie Maker.

When I made this video, I was in Panajachel, Guatemala and I left the village on a two-three Quetzal bus that goes to Solola, Guatemala. I got off at the village of San Jorge, and then walked back to the lookout, I did not walk down the road, and I had to walk back towards Pana to fine the rock trail that leads to this point.

There is something like three “Encantos,” near this location; these are areas where small religious ceremonies are held.

If anyone can recommend an easy to use video making program that does not require I convert the .MOV file to another format, I am all ears. The quality of the MOV video on my Canon Camera is excellent, however a problem.

  • That takes me back, my family is from Guatemala and I have not gone back to visit for 10 years, but I still remember this beautiful place.

  • Nice video! I have one very similar. We rented a car when we were down there literally just after you but in Feb. of this year and took many videos and pictures of all over Guatemala. My wife and I drove to Pana one day (very windy roads) and have pictures of the same places (the Church in Santa Catalina). We got convinced into doing the boat ride over there from pana and seeing the thermal waters which wasnt much to look at. It was neat but nothing like North Americans think of like hot tubs, haha. Thanks for putting up this video as it brings back fond memories. I cant wait to go back there sometime.
