Make sure you have a key or way to enter the Hotel when you stay up all night partying.
About half the planet has compound Hotels; they are small fortresses for security. Central American, South America and Mexico have some of the best Hotels that look like Forts on the planet.

When you check into a Hotel, you need to learn how to enter the Hotel again. Just last night at about 3:00 am in the morning I hear a “Tap Tap Tap,” on the gate to my Hotel.
I started to laugh to myself, I was quite sure somebody stayed up all night partying and now was trying to enter the Hotel.
Strange as it may seem, the owner of my Hotel gave me a key to allow myself in if I arrived late at night. On the other hand, I believe the owner of the Hotel fails to give keys to people who he believes will party all night. I think maybe you would call this negative reinforcement, either return home early or stand outside knocking on the door waiting for someone to open the gate. I would guess he uses it a way of encouraging rowdy guest to leave.
A good tourist or traveler knows surveys a Hotel when they enter and negotiates a way to enter the Hotel at all times day or night.
I did not get up to open the door, I figured this was a good lesson for them to learn… hehehe
