Global warming theory i think says that certain parts of the world will in fact get colder, because it changes common weather patterns. A warming cycle can produce posative or negative feedback- can make another hot spell, or cause a cooler spell. Wiki.

Andy, political parties are poison. They destroy the mind and critical thinking. This is true of all political parties. Never accept the party line or wisdom. Whether from the democrats or republicans. Both are shameless liars. Instead study the issue (global warming), read the policy papers, the scientific journals, and studies. Look at the credentials of the scientists writing the paper. See who funded the study. Then arrive at your own independent conclusion. Also never rely on antedoctal evidence. Look closely at the methodology and system of data analysis of any study.

Hello Bill Nye, you said,"Look closely at the methodology and system of data analysis of any study."This is why I do not accept that global warming is true...To study an issue of the planet that involves "Time," a person needs a sample of about 100-500 years. A trend of planet earth in 100's or 1000's of years, not just one year.

The Fourth Estate Rules the planet.

The Fourth Estate does not rule all of us.Global Warming is the perfect religion. Nay-sayers get ridiculed and unfunded. Global warming is the cause of storms, cold, hot, waves, just about every bad thing is caused by it, and we are the cause of all of it. And as with any good religion, you can not disprove it but believers will point to just about anything as "proof" that they are right.Living in New Hampshire, I am begging for Global Warming.Bob L

Right on, Andy. It doesn't matter if global warming exists or not. There's no question that we're polluting too much and the solution to global warming is a subset of the solution to the pollution problem.

Bill is exactly right! The East Coast of the U.S could become much colder as Global Warming causes the Greenland ice sheet to melt very fast flooding the North Atlantic with less dense fresh water and possibly altering the Gulf Stream. There are so many factors a Cray supercomputer can't figure out every element of our climate. Weather is short term conditions while climate is long term. Before the beginning of the little ice age which lasted from 1350 to 1850 Vikings had permanent settlements in Greenland and the Roman Empire was flourishing. It has been believed that this all ended with the little ice age which is believed to have caused the dark ages. The main issue with global warming is that glaciers are receding at alarming rates. Glacier N.P might need to be renamed. Mt. Kilimanjaro will loose its glaciers in 10 years and people in that area depend on it for clean water. 80% of the worlds population lives along the ocean and the levels are rising, it has been measured. Ask someone living on a coral atoll nation like Micronesia if the sea level is not rising. Ocean water is warmer causing bleaching of corral reefs, the tropical rain forest of the ocean. No, Al Gore did not invent Global Warming regardless of what he said. I studied this stuff in college for 2 years and he just repeated what others had done research to learn, like ice core samples in Greenland. Climatologist can look at these and even see when the clean air and water act began in the early 70's. Everyone has an opinion and I respect that.

The world changes, we have had ice ages and have warm ages.Is it connected to green house gase or natural?I believe stopping polution is a great and noble idea. However the biggest pollution on the planet is faulty reasoning, and misrepresentation of ideas.I studied Philosophy in University for 4 years, this does not make me an expert in Philosophy, I am a master at real estate, but I say that after 14 years of study and I am as close as you can get on travel after 11 years. The problem with global warming is the statistical sample. The inductive logic sample of 100 years is not sufficient to evalaute a trend or change on the planet.Logic is a subject in Philosophy and I studied for four years in college.Think about this, to have an opinion about the earth that is truly close to being accurate we would need to visit at least 30 percent of the countries. There are about 252 countries, and 33 percent is 83, I have been to 79 countries spending one month in each.I know this is not a correct sample, because I do not know China, Russia, Central Africa, South Africa and some of the Middle East, so in reality my sample of visiting 79 is faulty. My sample is not correct. If a scientist wishs to induce there is a problem with pollution I will grant this. When they start telling me what the planet is doing I think they overstepped and are thinking polluted. This is the new pollution of the world, where everyone wishes to be an expert with no passive opinions. Then again, I agree with Descarte, Freud, Marx and many other great thinkers that we must be concerned about the rabble of thoughts.

well, andy. what can be said? global warming is made up for a specific purpose by those who rule the world and have plans. i am tired of fighting and explaining. i left the states and am now in uruguay. here i filed for permanent residency. but a glitch is they require me to take a tetanus vaccine. hahahah. i said to the doctor i will never take a vaccine. period.
i know too much. way too much and i am tired of explaining the obvious. good luck!
