Call Airlines for Bag Cost Travel Tip I fly with Taca.com from Guatemala City to Lima, Peru today at 3:00 pm, the cost of the flight was 650 US Dollars more or less. However, with the new tricky luggage fees, I have decided to call before I purchased the ticket to try to avoid any expensive surprises that increases the cost of the ticket.
Airlines are getting too clever, they are truly annoying me.

I got on Skype.com and called the USA number of Taca.com and after a lot of waiting a nice person with a strong Latino accent answered my question.
I ask, "how many bags can I check in? I can carry two up to 50 pounds and one carry on up to something around 20, so good amount of weight. I think in Kilos so I suppose it is close to 20 Kilos, I am ok.
I got on Spiritair.com last year and discovered I needed 40 dollars to check my bag, which was a surprise. (I was not able to buy a ticket with Spiritair.com with enough saving to make sense for the extra 10 hour of flight time.)
Navigation of the rules of airlines are becoming incomprehensible, I truly recommend you call and inquire on checked bags just to be safe.
I feel that all airlines should include all cost, including airport taxes, luggage fees, and fuel surcharge in the prices by some type of international law.
Do you think it is possible to have a rule that all airlines would obey? I think the e-ticket was a rule that all airlines went to by a certain date, I do not see why they cannot do this on these prices bait and switch type tactics.
Call your airline if nothing else, just to bother them a form of disobedience to make a point.
