Bicycles in Guatemala
There is an attachment on bikes in Guatemala that is interesting. Here is a photo that shows how other children share the bike ride in Guatemala.

One child will pedal the bike; another will stand on these two metal extensions coming off the axel of the bike. I am happy to see this, they used to stand on just the small protruding bolt and this seems safer to me.

Some bikes have these little bars on both the front and the read bike tire. What do you think, it this safe?

  • Hi, in the UK we call these 'stunt pegs' and they can be bought from £1 a pair ($1.50 or so). they came out of the stunt BMX bike scene I believe, and were used for tricks/stunts.These boys seem to have a much more sensible use for them!
