Get a blog, collect some money, do nothing and live in another country. I am joking, but many people are doing just that...

My guesstimate is that 95 percent of them do not even purchase a domain name. For example, my domain name is HoboTraveler.com. Why is this important, well it shows credibility and a credit card behind the domain. If you a site has a domain, normally you can find the owners name, address and other information.
However, if they do not own a domain, say they have a Blogspot Blog, and then if they want, they can just disappear. I always look for the domain name; this is one test of legitimacy.

You can keep your personal information private with a domain name. On all my Domain names my personal information is private, and I do get this for free through my hosting company. I did pay extra with Godaddy, though.
Yes you can keep it somewhat anonymous with a Domain, however a Blogspot is totally anonymous in a way. I do not want non governmental organizations to be anonymous. I want anyone collecting money in "Trust" to be open. When someone gives me a donation it is for me, when I give money to a charity it is for good works.
