Upon leaving French Togo, West Africa, I stopped in Accra, Ghana and purchased 10 books an incredible amount of weight for my backpack. However, the fear of boredom, the fear of being alone, the fear of nothing was greater than the desire to travel light.
I can tell you many locations on the planet where English books are easy to find for Expats, for example Panajachel, Guatemala.
