Khao San Road Vegetable Fruit Market

Khao San Road Vegetable Fruit Market
There is morning Vegetable and Fruit Market just off Khao San Road in Bangkok, Thailand. I would wager the mass of Vegetarians on Khao San Road are too hung over to see this Food Market. It starts at sunrise and ends just after 8, maybe towards 9 am.

I wonder when mornings became unfashionable, really a BIG mistake.

Fresh Fruits and Vegetables, everything you need to make Chicken Fried Rice... hehehe

This is the road by the name of Kraisi, if you walked off Khao San Road towards the Wat you would turn right and go two city blocks, then the only problem is to wake up.

Here at this market from sunrise to about 7:30 you will see many Buddhist Monks collecting Alms.

Papaya

I never have figured out what this is, I think some form of Thailand Breakfast, ready to go meal.

  • Andy, that's a nice looking market. Ever see any other backpackers shopping around? I don't get the idea of sleeping all morning either. The best people you meet, are likely to be met early in the morning. Not a lot of nice people out in the middle of the night.

  • I have never seen any backpackers at this market. However, in the last few years the Majority of Backpackers eat in Restaurants. To me it apppears a trend to stop cooking at home in the developed countries.I feel in many ways the extra 20-50 percent people pay for food is one of the pivotal reasons for the economic problems. People appear to be in constant splurge mode. On the other hand Thailand is one of the cheapest places on the planet to eat so I would not expect them to cook here. I try to eat vegetables, fruits and nuts more than in the past, so I go to these small markets.
