Are the Koh Larn Thailand Monks Violent
I always thought of the Thailand Buddhist Monks as passive, I have heard stories about killers hiding in the monasteries, and how maybe they deal drugs… however, that was rumors, I do know they have many electronics and computers, I always see them in Panthip Computer Mall.

However, here are a few photos of the Buddhist Monastery on the Island of Koh Larn just off the cost of Pattaya, Thailand that will seem out of place.

Grenade Launcher Statue in front of a couple of Buddhist Statues on the Island of Koh Larn, Thailand.

A bigger view, there is a statue of a soldier with a gun behind the fence.

These two are protecting a something, maybe a Stupa inside the same Monastery.

He has a grenade in his hand.

Not sure, what is up with this Buddhist Monastery on the Island of Koh Larn just off the cost of Pattaya, Thailand. I do admit, some of the characters who visit Pattaya may need a baseball bat side the head now and then, but grenades are a little drastic.

I am waiting, I want to hear the story behind these Soldiers Statues helping the Monks of Koh Larn...

  • Bob L,That is a brillant explanation, there is still a need to protect the Gods against evil. In todays world this is the weapons we would envision. If you really wish and believe you need protection you would use real ideas not old and ancient beliefs.
