MEI Voyageur a Great Travel Bag
I need to say thank you to Tom, he completed the Travel Bag Design Survey yesterday and gave me a link to what may be the best Travel Bag I have ever seen, this is a bag that is designed for "A Traveler."

MEI Voyageur a Traveler Bag

This is the optimal size for a Travel Bag 14 x 22 x 9 inches, the carryon size for Airplane. I finally found this photo when searching for photos of this bag on google.com and it lead me from what I think is a vendor of the product to the actual manufacturer.

I do not see how a person could go wrong with this bag, it is a top and somebody truly understand what is needed in a travel bag.

This is a photo of the MEI Voyageur by a company called Genuine Gear, Inc.

There is some discrepancy because Tom gave the link of http://www.meivoyageur.com/ for the Backpack, however I tend to feel the true source of the backpack is another website that has the URL of http://www.meipacks.com/ .

I hope to try to give the company a call on Skype.com when the sun aligns correctly so the other side of the planet is in the right time and space to allow me to call. I am on the other side of the planet and about exactly 12 hours difference.

  • This looks just like what I would have thought would be ideal for your kind of travel (if I were doing it). I would love it if you could get a hold of one of these and look at it closely. It looks a little weak in the seams in a few places, but it is just a picture after all.Personally, I would rather not have the complication of a stow pocket for the straps, I would want a simpler bag with removable shoulder straps that I would just put in the bag.Personally, if this were to be my only bag (no small under seat bag) I would sew a pocket on the outside for a book, water or other clumsy things. Even if I had a second bag, I would want a pocket like that, 6"x9"x3" or so for whatever. But then, I have never done that kind of travel so my preferences would be expected to be different.Bob L

  • hmm, I luv my bag.. Overland, really a nothing to do with anything comment which is typical, I want list of reasons and the specific bag.Ct BOBI need a second bag, if I can get someone in the USA to ship the bag to me, then I would be willing to purchase the bag and pay to have it shipped to Thailand. If you wished to see it, I am willing to ship to you so you can see it, then have it shipped onto me. I will try to call the company after this comment.

  • I bought this bag from the people at the address you have listed http://www.meipacks.com/ about 1.5 years ago. Great bag, traveled 5 weeks with it, held everything i needed. Great construction, strong bag.

  • I am not especially interested in seeing the bag myself, as I am not currently in the market for one. For any travel that I currently do, a duffel bag works fine (and a big drybag if I am on a bike). I am more interested in your take on it since you have a very critical eye for a bag's usefulness. I would not be able to look at it and see all the potential flaws for serious travel. If you need someone to ship it to you, I would not mind. I would need some guidance on how to do it though. Let me know.Bob L

  • Hello Rune, I am glad someone is making progress, the 7-8 weeks makes this bag difficult for me to purchase. Maybe I will have it sent to my parents in the USA and pick it up after Christmas.

    Dear MEI Customer:

Thank you for the order for MEI Voyageur Pack. We apologize for acknowledging late the receipt of the order.
The bag demand exceeds supply and due to a long backlog of orders and Pack production lagging behind,
