100 Places to Live Abroad Before You Die

My Women from Tokyo

My Women from Tokyo
I just paid and purchased a ticket to Taiwan, then to Korea then to JAPAN, I am NOT going to Tokyo.

I am not going to Tokyo…
I am not going to Tokyo…
I will go to Fukuoka in the South.

However, there is an old song from an old rock group called Deep Purple that is blaring in my head.
“My Women from Tokyo”

Someone needs to tell me, I am sure I know, but someone needs to tell me, someone please tell me going to Tokyo because of this song just does not make sense.

A Song of my life, a song from age 18 should have nothing to do with me today, I know, but I can still hear the words,
“My Women from Tokyo”

My Women from Tokyo

Fly into the rising sun,
Faces, smiling everyone
Yeah, she is a whole new tradition
I feel it in my heart

My woman from tokyo
She makes me see
My woman from tokyo
Shes so good to me

Talk about her like a queen
Dancing in a eastern dream
Yeah, she makes me feel like a river
That carries me away

My woman from tokyo
She makes me see
My woman from tokyo
Shes so good to me

But Im at home and I just dont belong ...

So far away from the garden we love
She is what moves in the soul of a dove
Soon I shall see just how black was my night
When were alone in her city of light

Rising from the neon gloom
Shining like a crazy moon
Yeah, she turns me on like a fire
I get high

My woman from tokyo
She makes me see
My woman from tokyo
Shes so good to me

Hmm, I can understand the words, and there is a melody.

My Women from Tokyo

Hi Mr. Andy,
I can think of only two reasons to go to Tokyo. If you want to see some fantastic gadgets, or if you want to catch the bullet train to somewhere fast, for the experience. In each case though, ouch! that damage to your wallet. Oddly, many everyday gadgets made there and sold in US are cheaper in US. But there are a few deals like buying last years model car. I still have a 30 year old Sansui stereo, tubes, real wood finish and working great.
I reckon somewhere there is an intersection in Tokyo that is supposed to the busiest in the world. Everytime the light changes, Ive heard several thousand pedestrians make a mad dash across. One little note, even as a US Marine with high and tight haircut, every little kid I saw seemed to know two things. I was constantly called hippie, and then in a Spock fashion said Peace with the associated two fingers. Im curious if the world has caught up with current events in US culture.

I always thought the lyrics were "wild woman from Tokyo" I'm even more confused about the lyrics now.

Konichiwa Andy,

Your woman from Tokyo is now in her late forties. However still a lot of fun if you don't mind dating women your own age or just a few years younger. Tokyo IS the place;plus these single women usally have a decent apartment/condo. But if you insist on dating women 20 years younger try the Gas Panic clubs. Super Fun and discount drinks on Wedsday or Tuesday I forget. You would think you where in a wild GO-GO bar but all the women a re gainfully employeed respectable women letting off a little steam... here is a link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jxF3WRDZbM4&;feature=related
