Antigua Guatemala Market Days
Monday, Thursday and Saturday are food market days here in Antigua, Guatemala, I presently have an usual thing in my room, called a refrigerator, this semi-funny thing allows me to stock up on vegetables cheaply.

A whole market full of little girls like this and the older version are selling me all sorts of vegetables that encourages my diet, time to lose many kilos.

I am trying to track down the names of some strange vegetables and fruits, plus hopefully knowledge of various ways to spell.

There are two languages mixed up here, Spanish and some Mayan something, mixed to create a combo language.

Note, I do not eat unusual fruits or vegetables, it takes me at least three weeks of looking before I get food brave.

Hi Andy, i think that's Jocote! I know this entry is from years ago...and by now you may have found the name of it...but I remember you had another entry where you were looking for the correct spelling. It made me curious to find out what it was, and so this is my guess. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jocote
