Do I walk on Left or Right

Do I walk on Left or Right
Do people in England tend to walk on the left side of the sidewalk because they drive cars on the left? Do people from the USA tend to walk on the right because they drive on the right?

Hmmm, I guess I am trying to think of a guide or way to know, or how to tell people how to walk. Empathy impaired walkers, are on walkabout.

One of the big annoyances of traveling is walking, I normally walk on the road because I cannot be bothered to dodge all the crap that is obstructing the sidewalks. However, when I do walk on the sidewalks it would be helpful in some countries if they had a sign,
- All foot traffic stay to left or right. -

Please think before you stop, you share the planet with other people.

Choose a country and submit annoyances.

Particularly annoyed with cyclists driving on the sidewalk. Darn you all!

Something I have noticed when walking in crowds. When you are walking straight towards someone, which way that person goes to get out of the way depends on which side of the road they drive on. Even if they don't drive. If you drive on the right, you tend to move right, etc.

It can be funny to watch Europeans in an American environment, although I would bet Americans are more fun to watch in an European environment.

Interesting observation Andy.

When at HKG recently I noticed the people movers and escalators are oriented to the left.
When I tried locating myself to the left on the people movers so that those in a hurry could pass on the right there were mixed reactions.
Maybe because of all the international travelers.
