There is land south of Tropic of Capricorn

There is land South of Tropic of Capricorn
I picked up this hefty book by Paul Theroux, The Happy Isles of Oceania, wondering how far a person could travel in 500 plus pages.

I started reading about New Zealand, and for five minutes, I thought, there is land to the south, there is land down there, which is not covered with snow.

If you ever read I was frostbitten, froze my toes, any of them problems, then assume I have also lost my mind. I do not plan in this lifetime to be cold; I only like traveling on inhabited warm planets. I was reading away and it hit me, there is land south of 23.5 degrees, and it is warm now, it could be hot, I could go south for the winter, I mean real far south.

There is NOT land south of Tropic of Capricorn

Crap, the only big patch of land is Antarctica, and I am not rich enough for that place. New Zealand, I guess is possible, and parts of Australia, however shoot, I was hoping there was big areas of thawed land.

Punta Arena, Chile and Rio Gallegos, Argentina and all that Patagonia noise is for Penguins, I been there, done that. When you go out to explore a planet, take a map, and get a good grip on where and why the sun is over your head.

I better start thinking sailboats.

Airplane Story
I was watching that map on the TV screen inside the airplane. It started to fly north, then it continues to fly over the north pole. I start to get scared, why are we flying over the north pole?

It was a shorter distance to fly. It was a plane from I think India to Chicago.

The point is this, a different ping ping of the eyes is needed.

Thanks for the ping ping Eric, now I see the land.
