Sidewalks are for People in the Philippines The sidewalks are for people, the road is for cars and in the Philippines, and the country wants you to keep the sidewalk clean. I took this photo of a sign that said, - Do Not Block Sidewalks - Sidewalks are for People - --------------------------------- Philippines - Southeast Asia Sunday, December 16, 2007 Andy of HoboTraveler.com --- Submit Hotel URL ----------------------------------
Do Not Block Sidewalks - Sidewalks are for People
This is a great sign, and I wish the rest of the world had one on every corner. Then again, maybe they do, and because I cannot read the Thailand language, I do not know they are there.
Whatever the case, when I hear or read a good idea, I know there exist the possibility of Christmas yet to come, and you know, I could be Ebenezer Scrooge here.
I continually realize I need to do a ping ping to my thoughts, blink my eyes and see the other view, reverse my first opinion of this sign and see it for what it is, a good start.
I am very proud of the USA for being the 1 in about 174 who did not sign the Kyoto Protocol before.
- Kyoto Protocol is a protocol to the international Framework Convention on Climate Change with the objective of reducing Greenhouse gases that cause climate change. -
At first ping the USA is a jerk, at second ping, I see the USA as a Noble and great place to be from. It is easy to say yes, and do nothing, it much harder to say no. I know if the USA signs an agreement there is a true and real possibility we will obey the agreement. I know if the other 174 countries sign the agreement, well who cares; they are not up to the standards of the USA and are not of the same caliber of government of the USA.
Your country is the biggest contributor of the world's pollution. Probably even why this major global climate crisis now exists. To keep mum about an issue without holding responsibility..by merely keeping blind eye. It's really something not worth praising at all.
