A motorcycle side cart used to haul goods in the Philippines.

The one man said it cost about 20,000 pesos to make, my bet is about 200 U.S. dollars on the high side, labor is 5 dollars per day.

Trying to show how the cart is connected to the motorcycle.

When I was in West Africa, it kept striking me funny, why do these people not have sidecars or side carts? Sometimes the government stops good ideas, I do not know. However, if they wanted a good look at a Motorcycle sidecar, this link would give you a good look. I kept thinking, I need to give these people a good look at what other countries are doing.

Hi Andy, 20k P at todays exchange rates = $476.00. That's pretty high for that sidecar.

I think maybe you got the "Kano" price from those guys.

Everything is negotiable in the Philippines. Usually, a white guy jas to start from a higher price than a local.

Best,

He gave me the clueless answer, however because one person replied I feel compelled to say. I said the price is maybe 200 dollars in my opinion, however anyone capable of making this would know. I could make this out of metals in the USA for 200 dollars if I paid 5 dollars per day for labor.

It is fun for me when people give me prices. I do not think the man who told me the price was lying, he really must wanted to make the Kano happy, and say something.

I think I have a 10 percent chance he understood English.

The whole motorcycle in Togo cost 900 dollars.

Price is a big problem in the Philippine because of the scam mentality is part of the culture.

Looks pretty darn solid and balanced. Who ever made it knows what he is doing.

You are right Andy, many times a Filipino will say something, even if it's wrong, just to "save face".

I have seen everything being hauled in those sidecars. From shopping goods, to kids to full grown pigs for market.
