Map of June - July possible travels of HoboTraveler.com
The Red line is the path that has already been worn; the blue is the possible future paths. Anyone that read regularly knows, I do not care. I will say I am going a place, then change, so this is not a true trip. It will change, however we plan where we think we will go and go where we want to go, this is the nature of a traveler.
Budget for this jumping around type travel, is about 1200 to 1600 dollars per month, it is not beyond the dreams of a normal man, unless you want a private toilet.
My constant problem is finding good flight deals. It takes a very long time, and I hate doing it. Currently I am trying to figure out how to travel my own country in my budget. My budget has become smaller. There is a lot in the UK worth seeing, and there are ways to do it if you have a tent and know how to camp out.I camped in Norfolk on sunday night for one night, and cost me £4 to pitch a tent, that is maybe $7.50 US at the moment. For sure, this is still a little more than a bed in India, however, not a lot more. £3-10 a night for camping in UK. Cook your own food, have a shower, use washing up facilities, all included. The expensive thing is travel, I do not drive, so I have to use trains and buses. Or hitch a ride.
I think the trip is totally feasible for you Craig. I think time and boredom are the bigger problems. I have now downloaded 30 books and will take about 30 movies with me. The books in this area are only in French, hard to find an English book.I do not know where you are presently, but German in Platypus Bogota in Colombia may have done the trip. There are two routes, the upper across Algeria, which is suppose to be closed. The other is down below and could take a few months. I want to do the trip but do not want to do alone because of boredom, not danger. Many surfers on the trip.I also want to buy the BGAN Satellite connection before I go.
It's odd, several months ago I had next to no desire to saunter through Africa... today I do.Let's see where the ball drops in a few months...//Craig of Travelvice.com
