I've been viewing your site for a while now, and your name came up in a conversation I was having last week with Dick Corner, the American guy living in Guano. I think you stayed with him recently.

Anyway, he mentioned your ad subscriptions are proving to be pretty lucrative. I have a blog which I intend to develop into a Travel Resource and have wondered abut ads before.

Anyway, maybe you could help me out a little. Where to look, things to read about promoting my site, that kinda stuff.

I do a lot of travelling and purchased some tickets thru STA tarvel earlier, you are right they do have occassional good deals, but i have been able to find soem last minute deals from Hotwire, and also a site called - www.Biztraveldeals, they had a deal to london for about 230 round trip.

Anyways, I like your site and appreciate all your ideas and Travel experiences. Keep up the great work !!

Good deals and bad deals.

The problem is when a person believe all deal with a student organization are good.

NOT TRUE
Only a few are good, and only a few are good with Hotwire or other airfare sites. They must always take care and it annoys me when Student believe companies like STAtravel.com are always helping Students, no they are trying to make money and sometimes they gouge.

I think it's like all things... When I want to buy a new pen or a new pair of trousers, I will shop around to find the cheapest price.

This week, we had to buy a CD as a gift for someone who was leaving my school the next day... on that occasion we had to go to the shop instead of ordering it from Amazon... and we payed twice the price. GOUGE!

Sometimes things gang up on us and we are forced to pay more. But if you plan in advance, and play it wise, you should come out tops mostly.

Recommendations
I feel a pressure or responsibility when I say I like a company or use a company. How do I tell a person.... I use Sidestep.com, however I am very careful, there are people that want to believe they can always trust a company or recommendation. This makes my life as a person that tries to write travel tips difficult. I want to say this is a just a guide, be careful, however for sure they are not careful, they go off half cocked, takes some advice and get burnt. I am always annoyed though when an organization plays off the good feelings of a person.

Like we help students, therefore we are nice. We are a volunteer organization therefore we are nice. We are an NGO therefore we are nice.

The internet is full of scams where they make themselves sound great and really they are crooks.
