THAI NEW YEAR OR HAPPY NEW YEAR 13 14 15 APRIL - WATER FIGHT

Cambodia and Thailand are having huge water fight, as I am back in Bangkok I am trying to keep dry as you cannot walk anywhere without having Thai kids shooting or dumping water on you. Very difficult to return home today with my computer from Pantip because of the danger of getting it soaked. The taxi driver was extremely stupid and turned down the Khao San area and did not take me to my hotel, I finally got out of the car and did not pay him, he called the police over and since I knew I was right the police did the normal corrupt thing and tried to get me to pay him. I ended up making him lose face (Yes! ) and only paying him half, but I should have tried to pay the police off, it would have made the normal stupid situation even funnier and stupider, but same same and normal.

So we are involved in a big water fight in the streets, no one is working.

Songkran is a Thai traditional New Year which starts on April 13 every year and lasts for 3 days. Songkran festival on April 13 is Maha Songkran Day or the day to mark the end of the old year, April 14 is Wan Nao which is the day after and April 15 is Wan Thaloeng Sok which the New Year begins. At this time, people from the rural areas who are working in the city usually return home to celebrate the festival. Thus, when the time come, Bangkok temporarily turns into a deserted city.
