THE TRAIN TO BASRA FROM BAGHDAD

< Older | Newer >

A long 12-14 hour train trip to Basra, Iraq.

It looked as though a train went off the track and our trip was extended

by a few hours. We arrived in a city with very few lights.

Found a hotel. Ate some pita like bread with kebob like beef inside.

There was 3 of a us in a room. I spent lot of time telling Peter that

his shoes stinks and he needed to get them out of the room.

All is good. Finally tracked down an internet cafe. A cheaper room.

Etc. Lots of activity. Went to Port and touched the water.

I am going to write a lot more offline and send
