Map of Cambodia

Explanations of Cambodia and the Ho Chi Minh Trail and the Sihanouk Trail as supply lines for the North Vietnamese during the Vietnam War.

For more information this page is part of a larger story about the Ho Chi Minh Trail.
I wrote a whole story about this trail, and my travels in this area in this newsletter
Travel Newsletter  #156 in year 8 of my world travels.

Andy HoboTraveler.com July 27, 2004 as written while in a Hotel in Saigon.

The only way to cross the border as of July of 2004 from Cambodia to Vietnam was close to the Mekong river, there are however at least 2-3 natural crossing up country or in the north of Cambodia that go through the small mountains into Vietnam. There are rivers that start in these mountains and some flow towards the west and the Mekong river, and the other flow towards the east and the ocean or Vietnam coast. Natural ways of travel when there are no roads.
