A supply line for the during the Vietnam or Second IndoChina
war that allowed the North Vietnam Army to get around the DMZ and to send
troops and supplies outside the country with the cooperation of Laos and
Cambodia, so that supplies sent by Russia or China could make it to South
Vietnam.
Also could be considered the base of attack for on
the USA Coalition and the South Vietnam Army.
Strategically it was important because the Americans were by
treaty not suppose to go into these countries and the the North Vietnamese
would hide inside and could retreat back into Laos or Cambodia for
protection whenever they wished.
