We just did a trip from Coca to Iquitos with Wildlife amazon located in Coca. It was a 8 to 9 day tour and very recommendable although it costed us 650 dollars each. From Iquitos we took a fast boat to Tabatinga and from there a boat to Manaus, then we flew to Belem as rivertransport would be too slow now on the end of our trip...

IT was amazing!! Thx Robert, fernando and Sandro!!!

Is it true that the boat from Pantoja to Iquitos comes only once a month? Just trying to figure out how much food to bring on the boat :)

Thanks!

WILDLIFEAMAZON COMPANY LIMITED-LOCATION-ECUADOR-COCA-SOUTH AMERICA
Our guests will sleep in the border town of Nueva Rocafuerte but visit the park during the day. Jatuncocha is a huge lagoon located inside the park’s border. Here we will begin our tour searching for two species of dolphins, various shorebirds including the Horned Screamer and spend some time fishing. We will also walk along some interesting trails and of course search for caimans in the evening.
After completing Ecuadorian border procedures in Nueva Rocafuerte, we continue our trip to the Peruvian border town of Pantoja,. From here our Peruvian adventure begins as we continue down the Napo, camping on its shores or spending the night with a local family. Our final destination is the Amazon River and Iquitos, Peru.

I was looking at your map of travel from Iquitos, Peru to Coca, Ecuador. I want to see the Amazon River, but all the lodges are extremely expensive. My desitination after Iquitos is Ecuador, so this seems like the perfect route!! I have a few questions.

1.) How long ago did you complete this adventure?

2.) What was the total cost?

3.) Since I am a female do you think this route would be safe if I was traveling with one other male?

Thank you!!!
Melissa

How Long Iquitos to Coca
World - World - World

November 21 to December 2 is maybe a long time, I would think at 20 days starting to be longer. There are few things to consider...

1. How often did your son write normally.

2. Is your son a drinker or Ayuahausca type person.

3. When he gets to Coca, to really use the internet he will need to travel to Quito or a larger area.

4. How long does he stay in each city.

If he only stayed in Iquitos two days and took off, this is a very long time, if he was in Iquitos for two weeks, then the time on the river is not long. He could easily find places and stick for a week or two.

What is your sons habits? How long for a city, how long between writing. This is Andy of HoboTraveler.com now in Philippines, he for sure should have finished the trip to Coca, the boat trip is not that long. BUT Coca doe not have good internet.

Good luck.

Our son left Iquitos Wednesday November 21st - we think - and we haven-t heard from him yet. He was traveling to Coca on the Rio Napo. Should we be worrying? It sounds as though it is unpredictable and one may have to wait places for boats. We are thinking that he had to wait in Nuevo Rocafuerte for a canoe to Coca? Any comments would be appreciated.
